A *long* overdue art trade with King Simba II! It's Mohatu and cub Ahadi. Mohatu tells Ahadi that all the pridelands will be his kingdom one day.. and Ahadi is all *wooaaah* like Cx (they are both semi-canon chars. Mohatu appears in "The Brightest Star" and Ahadi in "TLK - 6 new adventures". Ahadi will be the father of Mufasa and Scar)

I changed the ears a bit.. in fact the "TLK style ears" have always been bothering me a little.. I've seen no real lion with ears quite in an angle like TLK ears. They are more.. on the top of the head and not that round :O

Heh.. it was a pain to draw this x3 But I'm really happy with it now. I love that savannah feel to it x]

The Lion King and Beyond
A late-night inspiration: the entire TLK family tree, with all the lions as CUBS. (Based on Terry McNamee's story and my own.) However, it's different from most because it is a literal tree...well, almost. Turned out nice. Sweet and innocent.

This pic was supposed to be a part of an arttrade with Wolfgirl Amaya, but was drasticaly delayed because of my school and homeworks and now when its finally finished Wolfgirl seems to have taken down her pics and left the archive.
oh well, I put too much work in this pic to just let it lay and get dusty... Im calling the cub in the pic Mohatu, and the grown lion is his his future self.

The Lion King and Beyond
A young Rafiki gets caught in the act behind Pride Rock. Remember, kids: graffiti is bad.

Accidentally worked a little dynamic element into this drawing: the three characters on the left form a triangle that points towards the fourth character, directing the viewer's eye towards the right.

The lion is Mohatu, whose mate is Winda (from Pridelands: Generations), who I've drawn before. The other mandrill is some nameless non-canon dude, meant to be either Rafiki's tutor or his predecessor.

1. Canon Art
" Hey dad..?" The young prince spoke up after a long moment of silence, thoughtful.
" Yes son?" Responded the regal king, lifting brows slightly in confusion at his son.
" Is grandpa up there?" It was a meek question, unsure of whether he should even speak up at all.
" No, son.. there is a place for bad kings, it's not in the stars." It was a sad phrase for the king to speak, his ears drooped considerably. But, Ahadi had a quick way to cheer up his dad.
" You'll be up there one day though.. You're a great king, dad."
"Thanks son."

Mohatu and Ahadi (as I interpret them) stargazing for the contest :)
