Zazu

Zazu is a hornbill and the King of Pride Rock's majordomo. He was assistant to first Mufasa, then Simba. He was voiced by Rowan Atkinson.

The Lion King
Serving Mufasa
Zazu enjoyed the high status of being Mufasa's majordomo and truly loved his job. He informed Mufasa of the "goings-on" in the pridelands and told him right away if the hyenas crossed their boundries.
In The Lion King special edition DVD, Zazu has an extended "Morning Report" scene in which he sings a song about his job. He is pounced by Simba, who takes over the song and grabs Zazu's tail feathers with his mouth and swings him around.
Zazu accompanied Simba and Nala when they were going to go to "the waterhole." The cubs' real destination was the Elephant Graveyard. Simba and Nala sang a song to distact Zazu (I Just Can't Wait to be King) and ran through several animal herds before they finally lost him. Zazu eventually caught up with the cubs, however, just before they were confronted by the hyenas, Banzai, Shenzi and Ed. As the hyenas were distracted by deciding who to eat first, Zazu slipped away with the cubs. The hyenas quickly took chase and, after grabbing Zazu by the tail, took him to "The Birdie Boiler", a small geyser.
Sometime later, Zazu was with Mufasa when the hornbill noticed the rising dust of the wildebeest herd. Scar ran to them and told them Simba was caught in the stampede. Zazu flew ahead of the lions and found Simba clinging to a dry tree branch in the middle of the stampede. Simba cried for help, but Zazu could only tell Simba to hang on and wait for Mufasa. Zazu pointed out Simba's location to the king and Mufasa ran to his son. Frantic now and near panic, Zazu told Scar he would go back for help. Scar's response was a smack of his paw at Zazu, sending the bird into a rock wall. He was knocked unconcious.
Zazu was devastated after Mufasa died, but did his best to comfort Sarabi and the other lionesses in the pride.
Scar's Reign
Zazu's position was dramatically reduced when Scar became king. Scar kept him prisoner in the remains of a ribcage in the main cave of Pride Rock, where Zazu was occasionally forced to entertain Scar by singing.
Simba's Return
When Simba returned to Pride Rock to challenge Scar from the throne, Zazu was still locked in the ribcage until Pumbaa rescued him and Timon from the hyenas. Pumbaa charged the hyenas, smashed the cage and released Zazu. Zazu bows to Simba as the new king comes to claim his throne and looks up as Simba roars on Pride Rock for the first time.
