I'm a software engineer, author, and animation fan living in San Jose, California. I was 18 in 1994, when The Lion King came out, and thus I went off to college having just seen it over the summer in theaters. 1994 was the year when the Web was first taking off on college campuses; everybody was making Web pages about their favorite movies, and so on our student computer cluster, alongside my classmates' Star Trek and anime fan pages, I made one for The Lion King. The rest is history.
I write my Web software using Perl with a MySQL back-end where applicable; my preferred platform is FreeBSD, about which I've written a book, FreeBSD 6 Unleashed. On the desktop, I use Macs; I've also written books on Mac OS X and iTunes/iPod. For this reason, if you're a Mac user running Safari, you'll be seeing sites like fanart.lionking.org the way I see them when I develop them, and thus the way I intended them to look. (I do make every effort to ensure that it all works in other browsers, too...)
In what little spare time I have, I like to work on my house, drive my car, write in my blog on matters technological and political, and follow the goings-on of the animation world. I live with a roommate and two dogs, Capri the collie and Banzai the Belgian Tervuren. I like to hike, bike, and work out, but I will eat an entire mushroom & pepperoni pizza from Round Table if nobody is willing to fight me for it.
Life is good... and the TLKFAA is a large part of why. Thank you, everybody, for making it the amazing thing that it is.
