Kovu, Kiara and Nala lapsed into solemn silence as their king told them the tale of Mufasa’s bravery and death.“Never forget the sacrifice my father made here. And, may you, your children, and your children’s children, be spared his terrible fate.” Every year after that, generation after generation of kings and queens made the same trip to the ravine, and paid their respects to the brave lion who risked everything to save his son. Her eyes traveled downward almost against her will, and a warm tear slipped out unnoticed by the sleeping pair beneath her. Drago-you are so amazing, you have no idea. I used to pick out specific colored outlines for each char, but doing it the outlines like in your tutorial has saved so much time, and each pic comes out beautifully. Thank you! Even if there was no doubt about who had fathered them, her valiance in birthing was certainly praiseworthy.Zira, however, was furious. Just because her own cubs had died at birth, was that any reason for her to be cast aside like a sick wildebeest? “That little wench thinks she can come in and steal him from me, eh? Nala does look similar to Sarafina, but they have subtle differences, and if you are a really observant artist, you can’t pass them off as the same lioness. btw I reffed them from several screenshots to get them as accurate as possible. |

21:30 Sat 8/2/2008 Fans of This Picture: 14 #48-ChildhoodI like to think that once Kiara became queen, she moved out of her bratty adolescent phase and into adulthood, she became a better wife and an excellent mother, but never lost her love of life and of having fun. Mpembe, her youngest daughter, is similar to Kiara as a cub in that she enjoys the simple pleasures of everyday life. And because she is the baby of the family, she enjoys attention and can be a bit of a brat since she inherited a good amount of cleverness from both Zira and Nala. Note: I made Mpembe have blue eyes b/c, assuming that Kovu and Vitani had the same dad, Mpembe could have inherited them from him (which is where Vitani got them from. I love how this pic came out! X3 |

It was as far as she dared to go, but she was able to see the faint outline of Priderock in the distance. Anger rose up in her breast, not unmixed with confusion. Why can't we live here? We did once before. Except Vitani couldn't remember her life there; she only heard what her mother told her. I wonder if we'll ever go back...if I'll ever go back...she thought. I think that Vitani would have made a few trips to the pridelands, just to take a quick peek. :3 |

Her story in a nutshell is that she was attacked and left for dead by a previous mate because she didn’t bear him a son. Mohatu finds her, nurses her back to health, and offers her protection and position as his queen at Pride Rock. Her name is Awiri, which means, “thrown away”, but Mohatu kindly renames her Ngozi, which means, “blessing”.Since we're allowed more than one entry, this is my second entry for the contest. :3 |

My theory is that Zira was pretty much the only lioness that really wanted him (ya, there’s the whole Scar+Sarafina thing, but it's fanfic), and when Scar realized that, he took advantage of it. Scar used and manipulated her when he felt like it. She was blind to this fact because she was so deeply in love with him, which would explain why she clung so much to his philosophies and that she wanted him to be king. I think if she only let herself see the truth, maybe things would have been different. It's quite possible that Scar did love her in return, but considering his personality, I doubt it. |

But basically, even though this took a stinkin long time to do (5+hrs), I really enjoyed making this pic. Hope you all enjoy it too. She couldn't believe Scar's words, but when she went see for herself, it was like a knife ripping through her insides. She ran, as fast and as far as she could, until she was out of breath and her muscles and sides ached. She glanced listlessly at the sky, trying to hold back tears. The frowning black clouds and crackling thunder heralded the first day of "a great and glorious future". Simba's not the only one who can run from problems. O_o Sorry for all the emo-ness. :3 No particular reason for it, other than I wanted to be dramatic for once. BTW, the bg was heavily referenced from a screenshot, and Sarabi's was from a real lion. |
