The idea is really silly, but it was late last night when it popped into my head lol. Rafiki is reffed as always, and so are Baloo and Bagheera because I never draw them ^_^ I slapped the bg together because I got bored with it. So overall it was a little rushed, but I wanted to get it in before the idea was ninja'd! XD Also, I know not all the characters are lionised, but it just wouldn't work otherwise (besides, Bagheera is already a cat!) |

This was the last straw Mufasa would take, and he had taken so much from his brother at this point, but those 3 words- he couldn't abide them. Pure rage coursed through every muscle in his body, and before he knew it, his heavy paw had swung across his brother's face. Both young lions stood there in horror."Taka..what have I done?" Mufasa uttered meekly... I'm sure other people have the same idea as me as to how Taka became scarred. I think we see a glimpse into how it was when Mufasa is speaking to Scar after he doesn't show up for Simba's presentation. |

During the song, I always imagine Simba sneaking away in the night from sleeping Timon & Pumbaa, and thinking to himself about the past. The songs begins so dispairingly, but ends on such a hopeful note. I always imagine him running through the jungle then, to let it all out, and standing high on a rocky ledge to catch the hopeful sunrise as he belts out the last notes. of course, the image in my head is MUCH better than what I've done with my hands here :( I didn't stay too long at it because of that*pulls hair in frustration*. Anyway it'll do... Just such a gorgeous song and a beautiful performance from Jason Raize(RIP) |

20:51 Sun 1/4/2009 Fans of This Picture: 33 Whoa this took me quite a while to do. Trying to figure out different things on Photoshop elements. The leopard was originally more blue, but I changed the colours through that neat "enhance colour" selection. The "detail" on the leaves was the last thing I did, and at that point I was getting bored ^_^No photo reference used, so there are mistakes I'm sure (such as the face, it looks more like a cross between a lion and a jaguar more than a leopard) but I'm quite happy overall with this. This time last year I couldn't have produced anything like this at all as I hadn't a clue :) EDIT: Okay so his head bothered me ALOT, so I hope he now looks more leopard-ish than before :) |

He still couldn't believe the only yesterday Uru had been there and now, now her body was limp forever and her spirit had made its way to the stars. Scar stoicly shed Taka's last tears. Never did one fall from his eye again. ________ First pic of '09 and directly inspired by the latest installments of Audrey_Cosmo's amazing comic :) Really quick and simple. It wasn't mentioned whether Nala shold be adult or cub, so I decided Sarafina should be taking her young daughter out for a few observational lessons :)I spent so long on this and I don't really like it, something seems to be missing *shrugs* Maybe some antelope or zebra would have looked nice but I was losing my patience with the wildebeest. We were to draw each others' favorite scene from the first movie, so this is one of hers :) It was hard not to copy a screen shot directly, so I basically stared at one for a while, took the colours from it, closed it and tried to draw from memory. If you look at a screenshot of that scene you'll see it's actually very different lol, my memory must suck XDPNG image here: MagicLogFinished.png BG in Photoshop Elements 5, characters and finishing in Paint Tool SAI. The only thing that I use pre-made brushes for was the moss, so I'm quite proud of myself :D |

22:13 Tue 4/22/2008 Fans of This Picture: 21 For the current contest :)Well, you have to admit, one undeniably good thing about Kiara is that she brought happiness and fun into Kovu's bleak life and showed him that there was much more to life than vendetta. We all look for a sense of humour and sense of fun in our respective partners and that's why Kovu fell for Kiara; she opened up this new world for him :) (although Disney could have handled this transition better lol) Anyway, here is the future King and Queen sharing a little happiness together on the pridelands EDIT: Didn't use a ref, and I only realise now that Kiara's paws should be lightly coloured *slaps self* aw well, it's not bad for my first go at her XD |

The scene flashed in her mind's eye repeatedly -her mother's face, her sister's tears- her mother's blood crawling over the rocks. She watched her father walk away non-chalantly, as if he did nothing. Then it all snapped within her and she lunged at her father, cursing the day either of them had been born. Her beloved mother, her poor sister - she could not let him get away with this. This unnerved simba, just as Akida's close appearence to Scar did, even though he was so entirely good natured. This made Simba feel awful. “Is everything Ok, Aki?” he asked. Akida turned reluctantly around and revealed a large gash over his left eye. Shock and disgust registered on Simba's face; this hurt akida deeply. “How did you get that?!” Akida told him of rough-housing between the youngsters & how he hoped no-one else was hurt. Simba softened & nudged Aki realising there wasn't a bad bone in his grandson's body and there never would be. (wanted to write more but no space D8) Hope you like it B |

Anywhoo, this isn't the finished product, this is just a warm-up picture as I was trying to figure out how they may both look as teens. After I had done the sketch, I quite liked it so I inked and coloured ^_^The trade picture will be drawn up shortly, I have some action poses I'd like to try out :D On another note I should really draw less lions and focus on some of the other animals again, but I'm not going to have too much time in the upcoming months :( |

The first is from close to when I joined back in October last year, but I think it was from early November, the second is from 5 months later in March 2008 and finally this one is from today, 22/10/08 :3 Paint Tool SAI has helped me make nicer lines than with Photoshop Elements 5 I think :) Sorry peoples, I have nothing more exciting to show you at the moment lol |

Some of you will know from Lilymud that my beloved cat Flossie passed away on Saturday morning, and I miss her dreadfully. So I started to draw TLK to try make me feel better. It helped a little. No sooner had he spoken than two male lions appeared from the long grass. "Hey, who are you and what are you doing here?" Kovu demanded from the strangers, "You can't stay here, the dry season has made prey too scarce!" Captain growled and pulled his brother closer to him, trying to curb his rage at the dark lion. Kopa gazed at the injured cub who appeared to be fading fast, and wondered what his father would have done. "C'mon Kovu," he said "I think we should let them be..."Semi-canon trade with Bubba_Smith featuring her chars Captain and Seth. I found a reason for Kopa and Kovu to be mean lol (like you asked^^). He was so vulnerable on his own, in the open-against every instinct he owned-but he had no choice since he became seperated from his mob.He froze, fur on end, as a warthog came into view. The warthog could barely see the small creature with his bad vision, but the scent told him there was no threat.They stared each other down for a matter of seconds, & each went on their seperate way. The meerkat would probably not survive for much longer as his own as he darted into the long grass...We all know that in real life, warthogs and meekats are not best of friends. Things would have ended badly for Timon :( . I threw this together in 40mins coz I really should be studying >< |

Finally done, I didn't forget about you! ;3Anyway, was a little tired of drawing lions the whole time, so out of Jwal's character's I chose Bhati and her meerkat friend Tesma. They're her designs of the original concept characters. I chose Zazu as the Canon char they would meet ^_^ Feel free to put your own interpretation to what he's telling them - in my head he was looking for his girlfriend, Binti, as there's something he wants to tell her lol ^_^ Hope you like it Jwalraven! |

I had forgotten what a pain real media can be sometimes :-/.Anyway, since it was only a small exercise, that's just a random cartoonish lioness; although, once I had coloured her she looked little like Kiara to me (colours are darker and more yellow-ish in real life, scanner did the best it could) |

19:15 Thu 3/6/2008 Fans of This Picture: 8 Well, everybody does a couple of these types of things :)I think my style and skill has come a good way from when I first joined the archive back in October. The one on the bottom was done in sketcher around the end of November, and I was quite proud of it at the time lol. The one on the top was done in PS elements 5 today (as I lie sick in bed, not fun)but I think this shows I've made a good bit of improvement in the last few months. Hopefully it will be continued. (neither Simba was reffed). |
