I use primarily Adobe Photoshop 6.0 but recently I've also utilized Macromedia Flash for inking. It's probably also important to note I have a graphics tablet. I woudn't reccomend doing fur shading or inking without a tablet. o.O

Generally I don't mind the lionizing thing as long as it's not the only thing your Archive is made out of. There ARE archives on this site like that. Jack Sparrow and Harry Potter lions are great when balanced out with a little more true-to-TLK characters, either canon characters or your own. :)

Do not pass Go. You fail. Good day, sir. Funny how the place used to be about Lion King fanart. You know, actual content based on the Disney films. Not crappy pseudo-Disney-style "lionized" characters. Not to mention that half the lionizations are pretty darn cheap. Dude. Go back to Myspace or Deviantart. Also, re: lions being on topic, I have the sneaking feeling that the implication of that was fancharacters and lions that actually make sense in an African setting. |
| I have to give you a big thumbs up for posting your bulliten. People need to stop with their off topic junk. Gara, I think the point you're missing is that this isn't a "let's post whatever, WHEEE" archive. This is a LION KING related archive. African animals? Yes Canon characters? Yes Lionized characters, and no canon? That's a no-no. It's not that hard to keep with the spirit of the archive. The universe won't collapse on itself if someone refrained from posting their scan of their hand (with a lion pasted on the side to make it on topic), their copious amounts of cross over characters, wolves, dragons, and etc on another gallery site. You will probably get more feedback there, too. Don't worry, none of us will forget about you, and the site will still be here when you get back. Well, that part is debateable. With images depicting lions as drunk, excessive violence, and crude racial jokes running around, I wouldn't be all too surprised if an over zealous soccer Mom came after Brian. Don't think it won't happen? Hah. You'd be surprised what parents complain about. And as for the comment about Doom Yote being jealous... that is highly doubtful. Edit: It's perfectly fine to like more than the Lion King. I, myself, do as well. However, that was not the point of this archive. This is not where you showcase your artwork for your other loves and whims. Get over it? Definitely not. Even Brian has commented on the lack of on topic art, and yet people still disrespect him. I think it's time you and a bunch of others need to get over the fact that this isn't DeviantART, SheezyART, or what-have-you. And it isn't just Doom Yote and I. There are a lot of other people who feel this way, but it seems only a certain group of people feel compelled to whine. That usually consists of the people who feel their "artistic freedom" is being impeded on with Brian wanting to enforce his own rules. |

You said it right there- their OWN characters. Characters they came up with from their own minds. Most AotM's characters are at least INSPIRED by the movies, if not directly connected to the movies. And plenty of AotMs have lionized characters, but they balanced it out with thier own fancharacters and art of canon characters.

| for one: I COMPLETELY disagree with u and Tsunami. I'm on Thrasher and FoxyPawz side!! I'm one of those people who "need to go to myspace and DeviantArt". People are here because they enjoy drawing and because of their love for the Lion King NOT ONE OR THE OTHER! not everyone is only a fan of TLK alot of them like other disney movies, TV shows, over films from diff. studios, and anime. So to close I have only 3 words for you: GET OVER IT! EDIT: Arckra, just like i said to Doom Yote, not everyone if all for TLK only u and Doom need to get over the fact that people here like more than the Lion King. EDIT EDIT: i LOVE the lion king! i have all 3 of the movies and know the lines from both 1 & 2 by heart! dont assume i dont like the lion king just becuz not off of my pix r decicated to it. ur a great talent, even though im a bit angered by ur bulletin i added u to my faves list, venture away from TLK a bit. lionizing chars from other shows is fun try it u might like it. do one or two pix and see. i never said no one here doesnt really like TLK but not everyone here is totally deicated to it either! the way i see it u're basically saying "oh! this person uploaded chars from ______ show as lions!! they must not like TLK!" |
