i'm the other way around. i can only create new characters if they are visually believable. anything that does not look like it would occur in nature (like wierd colors, jewelry, hair, scars, wings, horns, and stuff) runs smack up against my biological sensibilites. but i am also big on a believable story. so, my characters tend to be visually boring, but with great personalities... =D
| Hi Fire! (holy crap I've not commented here before? Not even to say congrats??) I just wanted to say that I have a message saying that I have one trade waiting for me to approve but when I check the list there is no picture with the "approve" thing. So I wondered whether it was the first picture you sent me as a trade by mistake instead of the Simba/Scar collab. Can you fix that yourself or is it a bug I must report to Nala's father...err Brian? :p Audrey *edit* it still doesn't work. In fact yesterday you sent me the Simba/Scar pic but I also had a second notification for a pic that you drew a very long time ago. And what was weird is that there was no thumbnail or description. Later I tried to approve it and to delete it afterwards but when I clicked the link in the mail it said the link led nowhere. Weird weird... |

| Hey, greetings from the New One. Yeah, I've been watching your gallery before I created myself an account and I gotta tell you, I love your story and the style of drawing you got. Half-cartoon half-realistic. I had a similar idea of the story of what happened in the middle of the movie, but I'm lazy, so it probably won't be posted... Good luck, God speed, etc. EDIT: You sure will see more, I have a few pictures ready to upload, but it takes awfuly long, 5 of my pictures are pending approval since yeasterday (at least in my time zone). I like how everything you do is canon stuff, particularly from the interesting time period between TLK and SP which Disney made so annoyingly fuzzy with SP's timeline explanations. i wish i could, but i dont have many techniques. there are some really awesome tutorials on the archive and also over at DA that i have found to be really helpful...
as for a trade, right now i am trying to learn a new job and so i am horribly busy. maybe when i am feeling a little more secure?

ALL canon, semi-canon chars are allowed.
CANON means anything from the lion king, simba's pride, or the lion king 1 1/2 (the timon and pumbaa one)
SEMI-CANON means the six new adventures storybooks, and the lion king comic books. i guess that silly timon and pumbaa cartoon series falls into this catagory too...unfortunately...-P
ON TOPIC means only animals that live in east africa (kenya, uganda, tanzania, ect.). there is a link to pegasus's list on the main page.
i really don't have the time to do trades right now. i am trying hard to keep up on all the work i have now, as well as trying to find a job. any trades i have done recently were ones i promised to people a while ago.

i think you mean that you are not able to get sketcher to work properly on your computer? you will need to make sure that java is installed and your wireless mouse is properly configured to your computer. that's all the help i can offer because i'm not a computer tech.

| Oh my paws, dude... how on earth could I have had NO IDEA you're drawing that amazing comic? Me, who loves comics! I've been reading it like open-mouthed and the eyes big as the dinner plates... I'm still like WOW. You have amazing colors you use, they're so rich but still not too "yummu" so it looks realistic too - a very good coloring style. I also like your style of lions, they work out really well in a comic :) *adds you to FA list (finally! EDIT: Yeah, shani was originally supposed to be simba's sister, and than later on, she was kiara's first name before they settled on "kiara".
i would kill to do another trade with you. but i have been busy learning a new job and i could be fired at any minute unless i do a really good job. give me a few weeks to settle in and then i wil have more time to do a trade, ok?

| I never left you a comment? That's strange. I really admire your work. Your style is distinctly like that of Disney's, yet very much your own as well. It's something about the jawlines and somehow much more savage look you give your lions. They seem a tad more like realistic savannah-beasts than the cutesy 'with added fluff' versions of Simba and Nala romping around. I love your comic, too. I have been following it, I think, since the beginning and although I have gotten a little lost from time to time (probably my fault and not yours, ha!), I am enjoying it deeply and always smile when you upload the next portion of it. oh thank you cally!! this means a lot coming from you. i am so happy you like my rendering of the lion king characters. i have pretty much given up on disneyfying them. and i agree, i too have seen the cutsyfication go to extremes. some fan-pictures of simba and company are so syrupy-sweet i just want to gag. anyway, i was never much good at cartooning. secondly, i love those wonderful, powerful, lanky muscles and lethal teeth and claws on actual lions and other big cats too much to not want to put them on my own drawings.
