Alusa is the youngest (and last) surviving cub between Scar and Sarabi. Raised in the Outlands by Zira, she was under the impression that she and her littermate, 'Daudie' (otherwise known as Nuka), would be her future mate. When Zira began to set her plan for Kovu into motion, however, she and her pride sisters fled. Eventually, she was unfortunate enough to gain the attention and forced affections of Yoni, Ukue's former mate, and his small pride of roaming males.

Current status: Cub sitter for the Eastern River Pride.
Cubs: At least two confirmed by Yoni, and others from the same litter sired by rogues.

Mheetu's oldest son. He roams the jungle and cannot speak, so instead he growls and picks off stragglers from the local troop of monkeys.

Born into a pride with a rogue for a prince, early on Abari took the responsibilities his brother shirked and took his place in the Circle of Life. Though betrothed to a lioness he's known from birth, when Ukue came to his pride, nearly starving and with a ruined right eye, he readilly accepted her into his family...and his heart...

Current status: King of the Western Riverside and mated(married) to an unnamed lioness.

Cashile: African Zulu name meaning "hidden; childe of a concealed birth."

'Cash' is a leuistic lion whom Ukue meets in mid-adulthood. Cast out from his pride due to the fact that his consumation was that of an affair, Cash has a chip on his shoulder and has no prejudices. He hates everyone and everything just about the same amount. Ukue, however, strikes a nerve with him, and though they but heads often, it would seem the Great Kings are insistent on seeing these two are together for the rest of their lives.

Current status: Rogue. (Future status: King of a pride due south of both Thembai and Abari's territories, which he rules over with Ukue, who is eventually his mate.)
Cubs: Many by numerous lionesses, though he's never stuck around long enough to know them. (Future Cubs: Four+ with Ukue.)

Founder: Kondo, a lion from across the Gobi Desert. Brave, honorable, and one of the strongest lions in the Lore. Ancestor to Mohatu, Tarmbu, and Bandaayo.

The Eastern River Pride is one rife with long periods of deep sorrow and shorter ones of great joy. Being closer to the desert than either Pride Rock and the Western River Pride, it is often subject to long dry spells, and most of the water is dried up before long.
Most of the kings of this pride haven't lasted long before a rogue came along to take his place. Whether the cause of the kings's deaths was the rogue's own claws, or illness of some sort, there is a sort of a curse on the royal line. It is rumored that none lasts very long before the next young upstart comes along.
Currently, Thembai, the son of a usurping and now deceased king from 'The Goodlands,' is ruling over the pride. He is kind, gentle, and understanding towards other prides. With him in charge, he ended the decades long war between his pride and that of the pride across the river.

When choosing Jela's future mate, Thembai knew he'd have to pick a cub who was just as strong as his daughter. Not just strong physically, this young lion has been through enough turmoil in his life to turn his heart almost to stone. Luckilly, Jela is always able to melt it with little more than a smile.

Current status: Mated to Jela, future Queen of the Eastern Riverside.
Cubs: None yet (in the near future, his daughter with Jela)

Hluphizwe means "he who harasses the nation" in isiZulu.

A rebellious young lion, Shorty is a strong fighter and never backs down if he believes in something. Unwillingly, he has recieved the responsibilities of kingship due to the death of his late father. Besides Sefu, the father of his mate from the seventh enclosure, Hizwe/Shorty gives the human keepers the most grief out of all the lions on the facility.

Current status: King of the eigth enclosure in the South African Lion Research Facility and mated to Izula, the jealous top-lioness.
Cubs: None yet (In the future, he adopts a cub he has with Nedia, to avoid scandal.)

Adopted as a cub by Sarafina's parents, Ilunga was raised in the Pride Lands along side Ahadi's children and the other cubs residing on Pride Rock. He is extremely soft spoken, due to a mild speech problem during childhood. By the time he was an adolescant(he's six months older than Scar and Mufasa), Ilunga left the Pride Lands with his adoptive brother in search of a territory of his own. Eventually he fathered Abari by N'Gada, his brother's ex-mate and his current queen.

Current status: Deceased. Late King of the Western Riverside and past mate of N'Gada.
Cubs: Many by numerous lionesses. Possibly over fifty.

Nedia's half brother/nephew. Strong willed and noble, like his father, Imani believes in protecting those who are weak and fighting for what he believes is right.

Current status: Living in enclosure number seven the South African Lion Research Facility.

Izula is Sefu's oldest daughter. Part of the smaller pride of lions next to the enclosure her father and Shomari are in, she's 'queen bee' and everyone knows it. Jealous and malicious, anyone who gets in her way usually isn't standing for much longer.

Current status: Queen of the eigth enclosure in the South African Lion Research Facility and mated to 'Shorty,' a lion with only one third of his tail.
Cubs: None yet

Jela is Thembai's oldest daughter and the queen-to-be of Thembai's pride. She's a wild, fun-loving young lioness with a stubborn streak and a weak spot for her child-hood friend/betrothed, Enzi.

Current status: Future Queen of the Eastern Riverside and mated to Enzi
Cubs: None yet (In the future, only Enzi's cubs)

A melanistic or black leopard, Kali lives on a reserve that is the route for the nearby Safari B&B in Southern Kenya. Very long lived for a leopard, he is well over twelve years old, and as such, very wise and wily for his age. When Nedia, a strangely marked lioness, stumbled into his territory as a cub, he adopted her as his own, and raised her to live like a leopard. He has not been seen since Nedia was kidnapped, but she hopes her 'Pa' is not dead.

Mate: None
Cub(s): Multiple, including one lion cub he named Nedia

Sefu's cub by Zainabu/Zain. His mother calls him her 'little prince' and dotes on him shamelessly, so therefore, he's something of a brat. Sefu will have nothing to do with the cub, due to his animosity towards Zain, so his 'uncle' Shomari has taken it upon himself to raise Kerac as his own.

Current status: Sefu's unofficial heir

A tom-boyish, tough as nails sort of gal. She has suffered through many hardships, but her attitude is surprisingly warm and spunky. Her first cub by Ilunga's brother, Yoni, is the first of N'Gada's line.

Current status: Queen of the Western Riverside and mated to Ilunga.
Cubs: Abari and Yoni, the latter by Abari's uncle.

Though she isn't my namesake, she is my TLKised fursona! Strangely marked, and with a knack for communication, this lioness may seem quiet and reserved, but within her outer shell she's a wild cat waiting to set off some fireworks!

Current status: Lioness/Hunter in enclosure number seven in the South African Lion Research Facility and unmated.
Cubs: None yet (In the future, she has a cub with Shorty, who adopts the cub, to avoid scandal.)

Nsizwa - Young man in isiZulu.

Nsizwa is the only cub of Nedia and Shorty. As of now, he's yet to be born, but when he is, his birth stirs up quite a scandal. His nickname is 'Izwa' or 'Izzy.'

Future status: Future king of the eigth enclosure in the South African Lion Research Facility.

Born completely blind due to a malicious growth over both eyes, Okotela is the first born cub from Cashile(Cash or Cashille) and Ukue's first litter and the only surviver. At an early age he started showing signs of mental illness, though they weren't severe and his parents learned to deal with it. When his little brother and sisters were born, despite his slightly weak mind, Okotela swore he would protect them until he died.

Current status: Pride protector of the Ghost Valley Pride and Prince Consort. Currently unmated. (Isn't looking.)
Cubs: None.

Name Meaning: Sword in Swahili

A semi-retired lion in the same ring of fighting lions as Shomari, this scarred lion only grew a partial mane due to the fact that his father is a Tsavo lion. A seasoned warrior and reknowned human killer, he is almost a father figure to Shomari, and gave him his name and resilient personality.

Current status: King of the seventh enclosure in the South African Lion Research Facility and celibate by choice.
Cubs: Numerous, at least over fifty, most recently Kerac and his siblings with Zainabu

A very determined and strong willed lion. With a heart of gold, and a fiery temper, this slightly self centered lion was raised as a captive lion fighter. He, along with nearly a dozen other lions and lionesses, bears the mark of Sefu on his right shoulder: a crude seven, branded into his skin to mark his body apart from the others in the pit. From the moment he 'meets' Nedia, he's enamored by the strangely marked lioness.

Current status: Sefu's chosen heir, though he doesn't know it

Ukue is my namesake and my personal favorite character. She has a heart with a shell of granite around it, but on the inside, it's soft and of a marshmallow consistency.

Current status: Unmated lioness/Peace Keeper for King Thembai.
Cubs: One by Yoni, Abari's older brother (Name: Chputsua). And two by Abari.

Thembai is Ukue's twin and the secondary main character of their story. He's a fun loving guy and a womanizer, but wants only to find the lioness to be his queen.

Current status: King of Eastern Riverside and mated to an unnamed lioness.
Cubs: Jela and Nuka, by Zira. (At least a dozen other cubs by pride lionesses in the future.)

Current Leader: Vitani. Rules single handedly without a mate, though she is courting the young brother of Enzi from the Eastern River Pride.

Heir to the Throne: Dogo, the son of now deceased Abari. Should Vitani die, the advisor would be the official head of the pride, and Dogo would have to wait until his adolesance to become king.

Elder(s): Fasaha, Erevu, Haiba, and N'Gada, the queent and Vitani's paternal grandmother.

On the west side of the river that splits at the north of the Pride Lands, there is a paradise. Due to a gift of nature, shelter, water, and food is always plentiful. However, in the history of the pride's founding, no generation has ever gone without suffering.

Though his madness was not genetic, Bandaayo's heirs are notorious for their weaker wills, save for Bandaayo's middle-born son, Ilunga. While he ruled, his heir caused trouble for the pride, 'forgetting' to look after cubs sired by his uncle, sometimes leading to innocent blood being shed. It wasn't until Ukue arrived that peace was momentarily restored.

After the premature death of his chosen heir, Ilunga's grand-daughter, Vitani took over the pride. She is the first queen to rule the pride in its own Lore. For now, nothing is affecting the pride's emotional well being, and the pride is prospering and raising cubs.

Yanga is the love child of Jela and Enzi, future Queen and prince consort(respectively) of the Eastern Riverside. With her father's quiet sense of humor, and her mother's spirit, this girl will surely make one feisty queen.

Future status: Queen of the Eastern Riverside and betrothed to Prince Chaka, the youngest son of King Simba and Queen Nala.

Abari's older brother and the 'rightful' heir to the throne his brother has inherited. Easilly provoked and extremely charming, this lion has a shrivled black prune for a heart and would do anything to meet out vengeance against a lioness who's denied him his 'birthright.'

Current status: Deceased. Late heir to his father's thrown, but was disowned for forcing himself on Ukue.
Cubs: Many by lionesses strewn out across the savanah, but his latest (and last) is Chputsua by Ukue.

Yza is the second born son between Cashile(Cash or Cashille) and Ukue. He bears a strong resemblance to Ukue's mother, Sarabi, from cubhood, and she slightly favors her youngest son.

Current status: Prince/Pride Protector of the Ghost Valley Pride, future heir to become king. Not engaged. (Looking.)

My Description: Zainabu was captured from a large pride when she was an older cub and brought to the same fighting compound as Shomari. Extremely flirtatious, she tries very hard to win the attentions of Shomari and Sefu, the latter of which she finds intriguing despite his partial mane and scarred appearance. Has had many cubs, though she is never allowed to raise them.

Current status: Self proclaimed 'Queen' seventh enclosure in the South African Lion Research Facility and mated to any male who'll have her.
Cubs: Six. Three by Sefu, and later, three by Dasa, another lion in enclosure number seven.
