Archon (Apprentice)
Not much about Archon’s origin is known upon Triuncona. Those who saw it say she came through a light filled portal from another dimension, and nearly died shortly after. Though none where brave enough to approach her and assist her and treat her wounds, she had disappeared from the area she had been brought to. This doesn’t mean the residents of Triuncona didn’t know her; six months earlier she had appeared in Triuncona her first time, but completely unharmed, but not unarmed. Archon, known as Apprentice, had abused and used her dark abilities for her own gain, crushing any that stood in her way. Apprentice’s terror had spread fast on Triuncona, the news of her even reaching to Loraynzia and the other surrounding planets. They feared that she would find Mirror and invade their planets as well.
The Deities would not stand by and just watch their precious planets go under due to this new threat. Sadly though, the Deities where well aware of Apprentice’s ability to turn anything she touches, cursed. Her weapons where cursed, the villages she destroyed, cursed, people she killed, cursed. The Deities did not want to risk themselves, or their followers, being cursed by Apprentice either. It was quite easy to tell what Apprentice had cursed, once touched, the item or person would turn a deadly darker shade and black fire would emanate off their being, their soul being slowly eaten away by the growing shadow. When the curse would fully take over, the victim would either become one of Apprentice’s slaves that she used as scapegoats in battle, or turn to dust. The weak turn to dust while the strong became slaves.
The planets rejoiced when a dark figure had come to take Apprentice away, they assumed he was a miracle sent to destroy her. They where very wrong…
Archon was raised by a dark figure since her toddler years. Some mysterious force had destroyed her village and her mother and father. A master of darkness had taken her in and raised her in a different dimension, he had known she had unexplainable power, power which, could be exploited… Archon had never known the fate of her parents; she had taken to calling the man who saved her “Master” and even on the very rare occasion “Father”. Archon was trained daily to master her powers over the shadows, gaining new unique abilities, creating moving walls of shadow that could slice through an army of beings at once, causing things that she touched to become cursed (Speaking of which, Archon had always had a feeling it was her fault her village was destroyed, she assumed even in her young years she had the ability to curse things, and she believed she had set a curse on her village which caused it to be attacked by such a dark force.), and to manipulate the shadows into mindless dummies to defend her in battle (Much like Crimson.).
In her later, teenage years, Archon had started her rebellion against using her powers, she thought they caused misery, and death, and she despised them. A bear trap like device was surgically attached to the back of her jaw and the back of her head, it served a strange purpose, when she defied her Master or her powers built up to a breaking point, the device would come together and lock in place over her head and face, forcing her to vent out all her built up power in the most destructive ways. (It was this headdress that had driven her to destroy many of Triuncona’s villages and cities.) Attempts to remove the device by force proved very painful and caused her flesh to rip apart on her hands. Grabbing the mouth full of serrated blades on the jaw piece and trying to tear it off was never a smart idea.
One day, her Master had left her in the dead dimension she called home for her life. She had searched all she could for him but never found him, close to giving up, a divine guardian had took pity on her and took her out of that dimension and dropped her off on Triuncona and left her to fend for herself. Though Archon was generally fascinated by all the warped and dream like creatures, lack of training had caused her shadow powers to build up. It had become a routine that the helm on her head would take her over and destroy the nearest civilization. She had tried her best to stop, but even sometimes without the helm, she had grown very addicted to the rush of power and the feeling of control she had over the innocent people she destroyed. She held their lives in her hands, and she knew it, and loved it.
Over a short span of six months her name was feared throughout the entire Lands of Loraynzia, known as Apprentice, people had bounties on her, people had tried to kill her but failed every time, she was a twisted mind with only one objective: To destroy. There where still days that she severely regretted the pain she caused, memories from when she was with her Master had snapped her out of her power craze every time. She wished that she could just find him, but she had a feeling he had grown afraid of her as well as everyone else, and had left her. When she had tried to be sociable or kind towards a random passerby, they had fled in terror that they would become her next victim. This always caused her a great pain of regret and sadness, but half the time it caused her anger too. She would normally let the frightened creature escape, but there where those times that she would feel so frustrated that she would destroy the person.
In her sixth month on Triuncona, she had been attacked by many of the Deities, gotten away, and was now in hiding. Until the day she thought would never come, her Master had found her again and had taken her back to the dark dimension. Though when she returned she questioned her Master, why he had left her, what he was training for specifically, etc. Archon was generally disturbed by what he told her, she thought he was using her to aid him in a battle that would not be good for others but himself. But he didn’t stop there, when she had questioned about her parents, he had tried to lie to her that she was made out of the void, she was nothing real, but she wouldn’t accept it. Archon had finally found out, the man she had grown up with, trusted, and thought of as a father figure, was the murderer of her parents and the doom bringer to her village. Enraged and betrayed, Archon had attacked her “Master” attempting to shoot him in the head with an arrow, but he had caught her off guard, but himself off guard too, Archon had plunged a dagger into his neck, supposedly killing him. When she had backed away to flee he had gotten up despite his what-should-have-been fatal injury. The Master had beaten Archon badly, to the brink of life for her disobeying him and her attempt at his own life. She had nearly given up, but had one last attempt, she had called out to no one for help, and the being that had rescued her the first time had come again. She had faded in and out of consciousness during their battle but she assumed the savior had won, he had sent her back to Triuncona with the last of his energy. When she had landed on Triuncona the second time, she was thought to be dead by all that had seen her beaten and mutilated motionless body.
The only species that had taken pity on her, despite what she had done, where the Divines, a bird like angel species that guarded the Kingdom in the Heavens. They had saved her from being taken to Oblivion by the Deathols, and had treated her wounds in the Kingdom of the Heavens. Archon had barely remembered them, she was still not fully conscious nor aware of what had gone on after her arrival on Triuncona. She still has foggy memories of the Heaven Kingdom, but not enough to convince her it wasn’t a dream, but the fact she had remembered being in unbearable agony when she arrived, and only woke up to feel new stitching on her old injuries and a few bumps and bruises, leaves her perplexed as to what Really happened.
Archon had wandered the vast lands of Triuncona for days, until she happened upon an abandoned Riggle family nest. (Riggles are very large featherless birds with Hammerhead Shark heads and resemble a very awkward dragon. Species is also © to Cody Silos 08) She had inspected the nests, for any forms of fruit yet uneaten by the Riggles or unfertilized eggs she could attempt to eat, but found nothing. Though, one thing caught her attention, a small crying coming from one of the overturned nests. She had found an infant Rigglet. She knew that it’s parents where never coming back, probably eaten by whatever had terrorized the nest, and she couldn’t eat it, she had taken it in and nurtured it and had grown very attached to it, donning it the name: Quail.
Over the many following weeks, Archon had remained at the nest, creating a bed out of the leftover straw and leaves that the nests where built from. Quail had grown up as well, faster than any other Riggle, but not by nature…Quail’s exposure to Archon’s dark power give off had morphed him into a darker version of a Riggle, two razor sharp talons, dragon wings, and spikes. And the very unnatural dark colours. Along with Quail’s new look, he gained some abilities not like any other Riggle. Instead of the ability to breathe fire, Quail has the ability to breathe noxious poisonous gas and spit toxic acid.
Quail had become Archon’s best friend, they protected each other and helped each other to survive.
Despite the fact that Archon had arrived on Triuncona her second time and had caused no harm for the following weeks, the bounty placed on her was never removed and the search for her never called off. The Deities where still on the watch for any signs of Archon’s return to Triuncona. It was Galileo, the Order Universum, who had finally caught Archon on Triuncona. The Deities had decided on a proper punishment for someone like Archon, decapitation by the guillotine and damned to Oblivion for eternity. Archon was sentenced to death and beheaded at Sanctus Nex (Meaning “Holy Death”), the darkened area beneath the Kingdom in the Heavens that was once a dangerous asylum, filled with Loraynzia’s most cruel and deranged criminal minds.
Archon didn’t stay in Oblivion for very long, a week at the least when her sentence had been to stay for eternity. Archon had begged Dera-Sa to give her life again but every time she was refused. Until Archon offered up something in exchange for her freedom, her soul and promise that she would follow Dera-Sa’s side throughout the Eternal War/Final War. Dera-Sa, despite the fact Archon was her slave anyways due to being condemned by the Sanctus Vesica (Holy Blade) decided to let her free anyways, not to give her her final wish, but Dera-Sa knew about Archon’s past and the helm on her head that unleashes her ballistic powers. She knew Archon would repeat what she had done as Apprentice, and Dera-Sa gave her a new life. To keep the Deities unaware about Archon’s rebirth, Dera-Sa had promised Archon that she would protect her be it a Deity or one of the Gods had found out about her. Archon, as many of the other beings who had enslaved themselves to Dera-Sa, she was branded with the Mark of Oblivion on her back.
Archon, reborn, had sought out Nicholas, the Angelic Deity, to save her soul and hellish future from Dera-Sa. He had agreed, but on the condition that she do something for him in return, a favour that would redeem herself in the eyes of the Deities and Gods. Nicholas had give Archon the duty of protecting the future guardian: Mage, and her ever expanding army from Dark and his forces. Nicholas had given Archon a compass, a compass that would always lead to Mage’s whereabouts and nothing else. Nicholas had also promised his eternal protection from another death if she where to be in dire situation she could not get out of herself.
To this day Archon spends all of her time with her reunited Riggle: Quail, always on the look out for dangers that Mage and her team may get in to, and trying to prevent the group from being harmed. Though Archon is not with the group themselves, due to many of the members know Archon from her first stay on Triuncona and refuse to have her travel with them, she still stays by her word she gave to Nicholas and follows the group in secret.
