another collab with the awesome DIRA/ it's her character Jing! my favorite <3
this time i did the lines and some final touches like shadows and the grass.

i'll use this space to ask: i need to learn new poses and try a few things, i was thinking about taking sketch requests. if you're interested just link me to your character you want me to draw. i can't promise it'll look supergreat though D: and it doesn't have to be african animal either of course, as i won't be uploading it here. no more than 10 people please. if all goes well maybe i'll do it again later.

aaaah, memories....
unbelievable how one can improve him/herself in 8 years. and i also haven't draw my that-time-whole-fav Simba few years! after 1996 i gave up computer-drawing and forgot completely about TLK.
and now? :D

i woke up today, decided i'm not going to work, did nothing and slept till 5pm. best day ever :D

drawing lions is finally fun and my doodles look decent again, i need to finish the few pictures i owe as soon as possible (a huge SORRY goes to Dante... i swear i'll try my best to finish it asap)

this picture here has been sitting in my WIP folder forever. yesterday i finally forced myself to finish it, meaning: i just added the hyenas XD

in case you didn't figure it out, this is the scene where Simba and Nala accidentally enter the Graveyard. only from hyenas perspective.

i scanned the sketches but my computer crashed and i couldn't bother doing it again.the crumpled ones were the taken out of the trash can.yeah.
1-groomed Nuka
2-male Kou
3-cub pile,Esi had the same idea and finished it before me so i stopped working on this

sorry for the (sort of-)double post, i didn't know such big files were allowed and welcomed here too ^^; and it's written right here in the upload section! jeez can i get even more dumber?

anyway, things fixed:
- THE PAWS! i refuse to make them any bigger ;)
- the clouds/sky
- dirt & scars added

i'm really not doing more because the original file has more than 8000px in height and my computer is too slow to handle it + with the countless layers... you can imagine how painful that was. painful and fun at the same time, but i'm done with it already :)

lesson learned: next time work with smaller files.

WHAT IF... the vultures raised Simba instead of T&P?

Starlioness came with this idea in the small chat we had and i instantly saw this as a fictional comic page :D

to compensate for showing you just a cropped picture, here's a secret: i was gonna make Simba more dirty and beaten up AND having a scar just like Scar but on the other side of the face. that's why his right eye is hidden on the 3rd panel. the bottom picture was supposed to dramatically reveal it. in the end i decided leaving him just with the messy mane. what do you think - dirty look & a scar: yes or no?

another canon day(s) pic!

explanation: remember the TLK meme by Silver-Dog? i'm sort of filling it, maybe i'll finish it to the end, maybe not, i don't know right now. anyway, there was a space to draw my favorite character and i couldn't choose between Nuka and Vitani so i drew them both trying to fit in that small place. (don't tell Vitani but i sort of like Nuka a tiny little bit more, hehe)

i liked that picture so here it is!

this is from 2006-07 so don't be surprised it's so crappy :X i just slapped some colors on it. can somebody help me with something? is there a special way to scan pencil sketches? because mine scans terribly :(

*sigh* i've been feeling a little stressed lately. at least drawing this made me feel better.

btw remember how i said there are only two couples among my characters? Mo and Cili are the first, can you guess the second? they're in upcoming sketch picture ;) whoever gets it right has a free request! only one guess per person. both of the characters are in my characters section. there might be even hints... i need to update that thing.it's already been answered!

i changed it completely in the last second to make it more comics-like. Bhati is supposed to look after the cubs who want to explore Pridelands, which isn't very smart thing to do considering there are hyenas around now...

the original idea was Charlie and Bradley dancing but i just couldn't pull it off - so instead they're singing. sorry about the crazy background, it was around 3.30AM and i was half asleep.

edit: i changed the background a bit and made & used my own music notes brush. it looks better now.

i'm sorry everybody, i won't stay for long again. life's been crazy lately. i'm thinking about quitting my job so i can concentrate on school but i need the very little money they pay me [/whiny mode]

while reorganizing pictures in my photobucket i found this :D it's been a while since i drew something completely for myself so i did a colored version. i don't remember if this were the colors i wanted to use back then when creating Kourukon, but i think it's close. haha what's with those cheeks? and spots and claws? it looks like a cheetah. the tiny thing in left corner is height comparison, the old Kourukon was supposed to be a teenager or something XD

Kamaria is king Simba's official transport device- i mean transport cheetah :D

i couldn't finish the whole body, so i added another little Kamaria.
:( i guess i need to look into cheetah anatomy more...hope you like it anyway, Nala15!

EDIT: it bothered me so much i actually looked at real cheetah photo for reference and added another fullbody pic.

people, people. where are you getting the ideas with art trades? i clearly stated i do them only with my friends now. but if someone asks nicely i have hard time saying no, even if i don't know them very well.
but you know... just jumping into conclusions i'm open for trades and asking me to draw something without debating what would i want in exchange - that doesn't seem very nice to me.
sorry if this sounds stuck up but really. at least ask me if i'm okay with the trade before giving me the list of what would you like me to draw :(
to make things clear: no art trades please.

(about the picture: it's weird on so many levels. Nuka in the Pridelands? Kilimanjaro-sort-of-a-mountain in the BG? colors taken from a screenshot?)

the lines were made with Pen tool because i was worried my hand will shake if i do it just with pen... but i think i got used to the tablet pretty quickly, none of my recent pictures were done with pen tool and the lines are still nice *happy*

sweet sweet karma...this picture is dedicated to ograndebatata who suggested i draw this!

random facts:
- lineart and coloring only took me 4.5hours. i don't usually count so this was new...wow. no wonder my butt hurt by the time i was finishing this
- Simba's mane was referenced from the movie, you can probably tell :)
- the idea of Malka having bi-colored mane was Akril/ 's i think. i loved the idea so i used it, but the credit goes to her!
- Tama was supposed to be there too, admiring Simba's mane. i couldn't draw her looking pretty enough and she wouldn't even fit into the image

and reasons for Simba's huge mane? i don't know, Timon&Pumbaa's special diet?

as for real animals i'm waaaay more fond of hyenas than lions, and hyenas are surprisingly easier to draw too. argh dilemma ;;

what if Nuka didn't leave Kovu alone when he was supposed to babysit him? what if he...... told him about how only brave lions go to the Pridelands? (hoping Kovu will fall to the crocodile river, or at least get into big trouble)

but this doesn't make really sense because if anything happened to Kovu Zira would skin Nuka alive. maybe this isn't the scene before Kovu and Kiara meets, and maybe Nuka doesn't look over Kovu this time and dares him to go visit a different place, be it Elephant Graveyard or something else. i'll leave that up to your imagination :P

remember here: piccomments.cgi?kourukon+WhataBabe.jpg the "secret" i was talking about was actually an idea of a TLK1+2 comic (yes, i should finish the old ones first, i know :( but this will be the best one, i promise) and i already have the basic script written down, all there is left is to draw it. i even have a name for it, "Long live the king" (haha i feel like a stupid obsesssed fan)

but. i want it to be really professional looking so i thought i'll try it on different comic first, and the more i though about it.. i actually created a sequel to a non-existing comic, and this is the first page.

making this picture was quite unexpected, i doodled teenage-looking Nala, thought of a story in which she secretly dates Ni, then drew him, then quickly colored, then forgot about the file, then randomly found it later and voila- it's here:

Nala is ugly but i like how Ni came out XD (though it doesn't look like him...hmmm)

i'm sorry i've been inactive lately, i just can't sit in front of a computer in this heat :(

anyway, i've been tweaking this picture for enough time to loose patience and still didn't find right colors so i'm using the colors from the last picture. the name will be probably Shikoku - Koku in short, because he reminded me of an anime character with that hair. (Shikoku is an island in Japan... and a dog breed. and probably many other japanese things.)

but neither color scheme or name are 100% sure yet.

this was supposed to be Kovu (after some years spent in Pridelands, so he looks older - and too much Simba-like) looking down at his cub or maybe Kiara. i like his bigger mane :D

i messed up the layers once again so that's why this looks different than usual ><

(edit: thanks to Yum for pointing out the fact i forgot his scar ^^; i can't put it in now because i deleted the original psd. file, so let's just say it healed... or something ^^;; )

when Ni left Priderock he couldn't stop thinking about Nala and others. the cubs won't probably live long with hyenas all over the place and as for lionesses, there will be no food for them soon too. for a minute this idea crossed Ni's mind, that maybe one day when he'll be older and strong enough.......but....no. challenging the King of the Pridelands and his hyena army would be suicide for any rogue lion. only thing that can save this pride is, well, a miracle.

Ni may be a little off because i didn't use reference and it's been so long since i saw any picture of him.
BUT..i really like the sky in this picture :D

i know i'm late...usually i don't even notice it's Valentine's day but this year i somehow got into the "pink" mood when seeing all those love-love pictures on web. so i decided to draw one of two couples of my characters, and for some reason i didn't hate that picture from the very first minute -> which is very unusual for me lately :/

what should i do? i'm having the worst art block in my life. i'm not able to draw anything if i don't get inspired enough. like now on Valentine's. it makes me go sad-face :[

now THIS is finally a picture of mine i really like.

I KNOW there are tons of mistakes in this picture, and the coloring seems rushed because i used wrong brush and realized it a bit too late, the other lionesses (which look like long-legged bears btw, but yeah - you can spot Dotty (or dot Spotty XD ) there) were put there on last minute and the perspective's all wrong but i still love this picture :)

- i said no way, i don't think my parents should decide who will i marry one day. not even if it would make me a queen of ... Pridelands, or however is the place called...
- it's not like you HAVE to marry him, just give it a chance, hmm?

random idea :D Sarafina looks ugly, Sarabi reminds me of Kiara, but i'm proud of the "jungle" in the background XD
