She felt with a loud thud that echoed in a shallow, almost dead way in Zira's cave. Her expression was one of pure shock, and the ribbons of blood dancing in the air and clinging thickly to her cheek and forehead were like flags. Bandayo chuckled darkly as her twin watched their half-sisters descent, her expression only slightly preturbed.

As Nuka writhed in pain on the cold, stone ground, his mother's eyes overflowed with tears. "Oh, God...what have I done?"

He saw her by the watering hole, and immediately something deep in him commanded that he protect her. He could smell fear on her, and the musk of an excited male. "Hey," he called. The lioness jumped and whirled on him, hunching her shoulders and glaring at him.
"Don't touch me," she hissed, her pale eyes crackling with fury. Malka gave her a sympathetic smile and kept his distance.
"Don't worry," he said. "I won't hurt you."
"...do I know you?"
"Maybe," he said, narrowing his eyes slightly at her. He felt it, too; they recognized each other, but from where, he didn't know. "You're on your own, aren't you?" A nod. "Come with me. I know a pride not far from here. They don't mind a few extra mouths."

WHY DO THEY LOOK SO ALIKE? 8D

"Now don't you go getting all soft on me, Shani," Mheetu said, his voice close to an intimate whisper. Shani pulled away from him to smile up into his eyes as he smiled down into her's, both of them unaware of the queen storming towards them.

OKAY SO. To clear up the confusion: the butter colored lion is Mheetu. According to my fantheories, Mheetu IS NOT Sarafina's son. He is the son of Scar by his adoptive mother, Uru. TO CLEAR THAT CONFUSION UP: Uru is not Scar's mother according to my fantheories. Shani is Simba and Nala's daughter, making Mheetu her second/third uncle or cousin or something.

Ukue: Oh, he's KING Simba now, is he?...If you've come to see the creepy little monkey, he's out. He won't be back for a day or so. I suspect you came to see him for his healing ability?
Kovu: Yes. Not that it will do me any good. I should just keep running while the going's good.
Ukue: That's the funny thing about love, isn't it? It seems so impossible.
Kovu: What would you know, you old gray muzzle?!
Ukue: Think hard, Kovu. I suspect that you and your sister both know that better than anyone.Rafiki will be here soon. You'll need his advice as well as his skills as a healer, my son. Fare well.

It was a sad farewell, but one full of hope and laughter. Chaka and Yanga embraced Shani as she bid them one last farewell; it was the last time Simba and Nala's last litter would see each other.

His mother was old, and seemed to get older with each passing day. It seemed to him that he was the only creature that made her smile; he would treasure that for the rest of his days.

Taka and his mom, who resembles her grand-daughter Alusa. I did this because I think Taka and his mom (Uru adopted him according to my storyline) were close, though she only lived about four months into his life time.

Sarafina and her daddy, Ubaba, the latter of whom is suffering from stomach cancer. :C (They don't know what it is, of course, but fact is, he's dying.) Sarafina is about to marry her betrothed, the prince of another pride close to the Pride Lands. Ubaba has come to give his blessings and wish the new couple luck!

And yes I know, Ubaba has emo hair. XD That was unintentional. But yeah, if he looks like Kovu or Abari, that's kind of unintentional too, but I thought it would be cool if he was Abari's second or third cousin or something.

Anyway...enjoy!

"Hey, we're not scrawny," Chaka said, looking up stubbornly. When he saw Thembai smiling, suddenly a grin cracked his muzzle in half. "You look like my Pop. You can't be bad." He was quiet for a moment, and smiled again. "Will you tell me about your pop?"

This is the first time I've drawn Simba in like...a year. As big of a fan as I am of TLK, I only draw Simba once every year or so on the computer. XD In fact, before my picture called 'Sibling Rivalry,' I don't think I ever drew Simba in paint.

Muffy and his aunt and uncle, Shani and Chaka, talk about how the latter have to eventually leave Pride Rock. Being Kovu's first son of five siblings, Muffy will always remain here, as future king and heir to the throne. But being the children of the late Simba, Shani and Chaka will only get in the way and cause stress for their elders.

Still...Mufasa doesn't have to be too happy about losing his best friends.

Mufasa is Kovu and Kiara's son. He's Ukue's grandson and inherits his colors and some of his looks from her. :P He also got her serious, almost stoic behavior.

But even the strongest among us have big hearts.

"Ah...Ahadi...?" Mohatu's cubhood friend tried weakly to lift his head. "Son....my only child...come back! Help your father to his feet, lad!"
"NO," Ahadi barked. When he turned, the pride gasped. They had never seen Ahadi cry before. "You deserve to die, you old fool. You are nothing to me. You are arrogant and you killed my mother. And further more," he turned his back on the pride one last time as the Ahadi they'd once known, "you are weak."
Years later, Uru could still never shake the
memory of Ahadi's black eyes from her mind.

O_O Why haven't I done more of these?

I think lately art is less about familial bonds and more about romantic drama, bla bla bla bla.

So I decided to draw what Ukue is at heart: a mama's girl. :3

....Ukue's the one on the bottom, btw. And if you say 'ohmaigaaadshelooksjustlikeSarabi' then stop. Go look at some pictures of real lions who are related and see how ALMOST IDENTICAL they look. I really like having a lioness who looks so much like Sarabi. And I'd rather her look like Sarabi than another Scar clone.

If Ukue were in the final confrontation, it wouldn't have been Kiara that unwillingly sent her to her demise. Ukue would gladly have taken revenge for the wrongs done to her.

This isn't finished yet, in case you haven't noticed. Kovu and the others have yet to be shaded and I need to put in a bg with the rest of the prides in there. But for now this'll have to do.

Anyway. Did this a while ago...just wanted to post it on here. :B

It was a mystery to the cub why his mother seemed more affectionate towards his sister. He was a good cub when he wanted to be....he always followed his mother's advice and never disobeyed his father's rules. The pain and numbness in Sarabi's eyes when she looked at him never went away. In her defence, Sarabi couldn't help but fear for her child and her kingdom....

Thembai looked so much like Ahadi.

Poor Thembai. :C

Zira: YOU BETRAYED ME! You said I could always trust you, no matter what happened!!!
Ukue: You're one to talk! Look what you've done to Thembai, to Daudi--
Zira: Daudi?! Pah! After what you've done to him, he's no better than the dirt we walk on! And Thembai means nothing to me, not after he turned on your father--
Ukue: THAT'S NOT TRUE!! I'LL MAKE YOU EAT THOSE WORDS!!!

Ukue and Zira duke it out after Thembai leaves the Pride Lands and an accident leads to Nuka's mental troubles. This is the last time they had an actual conversation with one another.

This started out as a banner for my comic/fanfiction and then turned out to be an intense character development piece. Hope you enjoy!

"Kiara, there you are...oh. Who's this?"

He drew up short when he saw the lioness Kiara was lounging with. There was something eerily familiar about the lioness's presence that had the fur on his back standing on end. Slowly she turned towards him, and Kovu flinched when he caught sight of the nasty scars that went over her right eye. Instinctively he knew she was looking at him, though the pupil of her scarred eye was white and immobile.

"Oh, Kovu," Kiara tittered, grinning knowingly at the lioness. "Is that any way to greet your mother?"

"M-my...my...what..?!"

Kovu meets his estranged mother, whom he was told abandoned him when he was a cub, when in reality Zira snatched him away from Ukue. Sadness. :(

Here's a little theory for ya. When Nala left, she was going to help Ukue find Rafiki. Rafiki had already scurried off because he found Simba's seed...windy...things before he could heal Ukue's eye. Sarafina and Sarabi are bidding fairwell to their daughters. While Sarafina and Nala are emotional over the ordeal, Ukue and Sarabi manage to keep a straight face, though they're dying on the inside. Becuase they both know one of them will die before Nala and Ukue return.

I decided to do something psuedo realistic. C: I like it. It's an interesting style and surprisingly easy. D: I also twinkered with Ukue's design to make her look more like her mother. (Twinkered=tweaked+tinkered.)

The lionesses sometimes spoke amongst themselves, wondering at the fact that Scar never smiled when they showed him affection. Yes, he would supply them with heirs, but he seemed more keen on restricting their hunting times and tending his hyena goons.

But there were times, when his first cubs born into his rule, would approach him, that his heart would shine brightly through his eyes. The old Scar, Taka, would emerge from beneath, swelling with pride and love.

Unfortunately for them all, those times were fleeting and few.

Simba: I'M TEN TIMES THE KING MY UNCLE WAS!!!!

As you can see, when half brother and half sister first mee, things don't go so well.

By this time, Sarabi has joined Mufasa amongst the stars, so she cannot act as a mediator between her children. Don't worry though, Ukue lives. ;3

Ukue and Zira were trouble makers in their day. Granted, they served the king well, but when they weren't doing his errands, they were causing all sorts of trouble in the Pride Lands.

Ukue's beloved is with the Great Kings
Zira's brother now rests with their anscestors
Thembai's love for his father has now died

Not the greatest quote from my fanfiction, but it's the only one that goes with this picture thus far. So, the gist and nub (the meaning) of this picture: Zira's brother, Ukue's betrothed and future prince of the Pride Lands, was actually killed by Scar because he thought him an unfit father of Ukue's children...but he tells them he just foun him after he was attacked by a nameless...thing.

Ya wonder why Zira's so messed up? Her future beau killed off anyone he didn't like/thinkg would survive! D:>
