This is Bandaayo, someone who's been floating around as an invisible force of nature in this series of mine from the start. He is older than Mohatu's grandfather, and lives up until about the time that Simba is exiled by Scar. Throughout his lifetime he has few children, believing in a monogamous way of life, and he cherishes the two mates he takes.

If you guess who his great-grand children are, you are smart cookies. :3

"Quit flirting, Nomusa," Mbali grumbled. "That rogue will be like all the others. He'll try to lure any of us girls away with pretty words to force his so-called 'affections' onto us."
"Oh Mbali, you're such a...oooh, better watch out, sis, he's eyeing you," Nomusa snickered.
"He can eye me all he wants," Mbali snorted, turning her eyes upward. "I want nothing to do with him."

B.) Nedia and Personal Art

Here's an older version of Nedia. As you can see, most of her bio is over a short period of time; two years maybe, while my other original characters bios cover most of their life times. I wanted her's to be a bit of a teaser for the revamped comic. ;)

Sooo...Nedia's gotten a bit darker. She looks a bit sly now doesn't she? I really like the change. :) She's always so much fun to draw!

Rafiki watched Scar's face closely as he saw his cubs for the first time. His expression did not change as he gave them a scathing inspection from where he stood. Somewhat disgusted by his new 'king's' neutral reaction to his first children in years, he turned to inspect them himself.
The male was the kind of cub a lion needed to be made of. Thick, lithe, and with a glow of hope in his kindly brown eyes. He looked more like Ahadi than his father ever had.
The female had all of her mother's good looks. Rafiki chuckled when he saw the rebellion plain as the morning sun on her.
"That one will be trouble," Scar said, as if reading Rafiki's thoughts. "You. Boy. You will be my heir. Sarabi, you may go. Leave us."

Insanity

She was swallowed by it. All around her was fear, hate, anger, confusion and guilt. Ukue trembled as she tried to drink in the terrifying sights around her.

There was a cub. He was covered from elbows down in blood, his eyes empty black holes. He looked so alone...so forlorn as he watched another run away from the bloody corpse of a lion towards a green smudge far off.

A shriek made Ukue jump. A huge bird, its mane streaming, it's eye gored, took to the skies. With startling clarity, she knew what the monster was.

"D....Daddy?"

"Taka wasn't my father," Thembai said quietly. "Scar was. And Scar was a merciless, cold-blooded killer. If our kingdom knew that I was his son...none of them would trust me."
Kit was silent for some time, gazing at the water's still surface. They often came to this little pool, this oasis where they'd met, when they wanted to speak honestly without fear of others. She let out a sigh and looked at him.
"I trust you."
"You shouldn't," he said, glowering. His eyes glowed with vehemence. "My father was a monster. I'm as good as one."
"No, Thembai," she said, frowning sadly. "Just a little confused."

She felt with a loud thud that echoed in a shallow, almost dead way in Zira's cave. Her expression was one of pure shock, and the ribbons of blood dancing in the air and clinging thickly to her cheek and forehead were like flags. Bandayo chuckled darkly as her twin watched their half-sisters descent, her expression only slightly preturbed.

As Nuka writhed in pain on the cold, stone ground, his mother's eyes overflowed with tears. "Oh, God...what have I done?"

In response to my last picture, with Malka and Alusa. 8D Over on dA, DJCoulz has a theory: that Malka is the child of Scar and Sarabi, and that's the joke behind 'Simba's New Brother.' I liked this theory alot because it would make sense why we never saw his dad. SO.

Here is the great-grand daddy of Malka, and my theoretical grand-daddy for Scar. :B (This would make him the great-grand dad of Ukue, Thembai, and Alusa. Guess who gets his mane color in the generation after them?)

He saw her by the watering hole, and immediately something deep in him commanded that he protect her. He could smell fear on her, and the musk of an excited male. "Hey," he called. The lioness jumped and whirled on him, hunching her shoulders and glaring at him.
"Don't touch me," she hissed, her pale eyes crackling with fury. Malka gave her a sympathetic smile and kept his distance.
"Don't worry," he said. "I won't hurt you."
"...do I know you?"
"Maybe," he said, narrowing his eyes slightly at her. He felt it, too; they recognized each other, but from where, he didn't know. "You're on your own, aren't you?" A nod. "Come with me. I know a pride not far from here. They don't mind a few extra mouths."

"Now don't you go getting all soft on me, Shani," Mheetu said, his voice close to an intimate whisper. Shani pulled away from him to smile up into his eyes as he smiled down into her's, both of them unaware of the queen storming towards them.

OKAY SO. To clear up the confusion: the butter colored lion is Mheetu. According to my fantheories, Mheetu IS NOT Sarafina's son. He is the son of Scar by his adoptive mother, Uru. TO CLEAR THAT CONFUSION UP: Uru is not Scar's mother according to my fantheories. Shani is Simba and Nala's daughter, making Mheetu her second/third uncle or cousin or something.

The cry that Queen Kiara belted out to the skies struck so much fear into her subjects, both those of her pride and her prey, that there was a moment of silence. Her screamed prayer and curse in the ancient tongue echoed off of Pride Rock, but was soon drowned out by the roaring of those looking on. The pride sang their approval, as Kovu sat with his children apart from the pride with the rest of the mourners. Muffy looked up with curious green eyes at his father.
"Papa, why is Mommy so angry with Grampa Simba?" he asked. Kovu closed his eyes briefly against a wave of fresh grief, and replied,
"Because Simba left without telling her goodbye."

Kiara turns into the Warrior Princess of Pride Rock Hur hur.

Yoni laughed, "You think I'd stoop to those lows?! HAH! She's not worth crouching over."
"You forget your place, yet again, Sir Yoni," Abari snarled. "Not only do you speak out of turn, you are also insulting a king's advisor. I am judge over this hearing and will not allow anything to distract my verdict."
Mheetu felt his half sister cringe beside him when those pitiless, heartless blue eyes sought her out. Mheetu stared impassively back, mumbling "Fascinating," to himself as he considered how despicable a creature the younger lion was.
"And I pass my judgement now," Abari said, his voice calmer. "Ukue. You may proceed."
"With pleasure," Ukue snarled from the shadows. Yoni was dead before he even recognized her.

Shani felt battered and bruised, but no worse for ware as the group of lionesses lead her along a moss covered log. At the opposite end she saw a lion, a sliver directly from the sun among a field of green. Her hackles raised as she thought back on her mother's warnings.

"Ah, so you are the little trouble maker who's been roaving about my woods," he said by way of greeting. Shani cut to the chase, bearing her teeth at him and letting out a threatening snarl.

"I demand to speak to your king!" she barked out. "The way I was just treated is appalling! I demand justice! Where is he?!"

The slender, obviously old lion raised a brow at her, looking down his nose at her.

"My dear, I AM the king."

Here's Zira's mama. :> N'Gada is a conflicted character; she is very accepting and warm, but at the same time, she is a force to be reckoned with. Unfortunately, she couldn't pass on her kindness to her daughter, Zira. :C

As you can see, pictured here, N'Gada is VERY old. At least ten+ years. She may look frail, but in her prime, she really was a creature of legend.

Here's Uso! According to the plot I've created, he is Zira's daddy, Nuka's grand daddy, and Kovu and Vitani's grand-uncle. Uso is one of my favorite 'new' characters. (He's been around since I first built my HUGE TLK family tree, way back in late 2008...I think) It makes me sad to think about all that happens to him. But his soul gets some peace in the end, I think.

Thembai beamed with pride and love; his two sisters, his dearest sisters, were finally with him again. Alusa was heavy with cub, and he knew he would love them dearly and raise them as his own. Ukue wept with joy, while Alusa tried in vain to maintain composure.

Their family was finally one at last.

Ukue and Thembai are reunited with their little sister, Alusa. This is around the time that Kovu and Kiara met, which would make all three of Scar and Sarabi's children young adults.

I love Alusa. She's turning out to be such an amazing character to develop!!

His mother was old, and seemed to get older with each passing day. It seemed to him that he was the only creature that made her smile; he would treasure that for the rest of his days.

Taka and his mom, who resembles her grand-daughter Alusa. I did this because I think Taka and his mom (Uru adopted him according to my storyline) were close, though she only lived about four months into his life time.

Though she was a vital member of the pride, serving as a key hunter, baby sitter, and story teller, Ukue was often allowed to leave the pride from time to time. Often she went to a cluster of rocks beneath an ancient baobab tree, silent for hours, holding counsel with the wind, the Great Kings, or other creatures living in Thembai's kingdom.

I drew this in a couple of hours, and I have to say, I'm so pleased!! :B I haven't drawn realistic Ukue in a while, so sorry if she looks a bit wonky.

Sarafina and her daddy, Ubaba, the latter of whom is suffering from stomach cancer. :C (They don't know what it is, of course, but fact is, he's dying.) Sarafina is about to marry her betrothed, the prince of another pride close to the Pride Lands. Ubaba has come to give his blessings and wish the new couple luck!

And yes I know, Ubaba has emo hair. XD That was unintentional. But yeah, if he looks like Kovu or Abari, that's kind of unintentional too, but I thought it would be cool if he was Abari's second or third cousin or something.

"What in the world?" Cashille couldn't help himself; he leaned forward, caging her in a bit with a paw on either side of her. "You can't think that. You're talking to the lion who was burned...with water. You are NOT ugly."

Ukue turned, arching an eyebrow at him. He offered her a friendly smile. After a few seconds, she returned it.

Cashille was beaming for the rest of the day; he knew he had a chance now to win fair lady's heart.

Cashille is an ablino lion; he is not a 'white lion.' He is also around Simba's age, so he's older and a bit...wrinkled. XD

"It didn't hurt at first, only tingled. But I didn't touch it in fear of the two-foots trying to pour more on me; I could tell by the way they showed their teeth something bad was about to happen.

Fun Facts: Kyso is deaf in her left ear; she was born with a crumpled ear and could never hear on that side.

"Hey, we're not scrawny," Chaka said, looking up stubbornly. When he saw Thembai smiling, suddenly a grin cracked his muzzle in half. "You look like my Pop. You can't be bad." He was quiet for a moment, and smiled again. "Will you tell me about your pop?"

This is the first time I've drawn Simba in like...a year. As big of a fan as I am of TLK, I only draw Simba once every year or so on the computer. XD In fact, before my picture called 'Sibling Rivalry,' I don't think I ever drew Simba in paint.

From left to right:
Fisa: Kovu and Kiara's oldest daughter and the second born. The prankster of the family, Fisa is mischevous, but her heart is in the right place. Will eventually leave Pride Rock with a rogue with her brother Mufasa's blessing.
Bisi: Somewhat of the odd lioness out, Bisi is a loner among the pride. As a cub she befriended an old hyena named Buzz, but the hyena disappeared after Kovu chased him away. After that, Bisi doesn't trust her father or any males, besides Daudi.

Kovu and Kiara made more pritty babies! :B

From left to right:
Mufasa: Kovu and Kiara's oldest from a litter of five. Future king of Pride Rock and the first in many generations to ask to rule alongside his own brothers. Wise, stoic, and stubborn to a fault.
Kopa the Second: Carefree and a bit of a flirt, Kovu and Kiara's middle child. Said to be the reincarnation of Kopa the First, Kiara's twin brother.
Daudi: the last born of the litter, and possibly the smartest. Daudi inherited most of his genes from his father's side, and though he is generally thought of as weak, he's actually highly intelligent.

Kovu and Kiara make pritty babies. :B

Muffy and his aunt and uncle, Shani and Chaka, talk about how the latter have to eventually leave Pride Rock. Being Kovu's first son of five siblings, Muffy will always remain here, as future king and heir to the throne. But being the children of the late Simba, Shani and Chaka will only get in the way and cause stress for their elders.

Still...Mufasa doesn't have to be too happy about losing his best friends.

Mufasa is Kovu and Kiara's son. He's Ukue's grandson and inherits his colors and some of his looks from her. :P He also got her serious, almost stoic behavior.

But even the strongest among us have big hearts.

Thembai sulked for the rest of the day, wandering the drying tall grasses near their hideouts for hours on end. Ukue finally grew tired of her brother's behavior and tackled him, the two of them rolling before Thembai threr her off in a disgusted rage.
"Leave me alone, sis," he grunted, standing up to shake the dust off his young adolescent mane. "I'm not in the mood for cub antics."
"Funny," Ukue said, smiling over one shoulder as she sat up. "Seems to me that a lion is never too old for cub antics. You're too hard on yourself, even after Zira rejects you....for the fifth time."
Thembai glared at her, growling, "Thanks for the support."

Ukue gives Thembai, her twin, a hard time...alot. :D

Kopa (right) sings that famous Soggy Bottom Boys song to Vitani about his troubles, even while keeping a smile on her face, making her realize life is bad on both sides of the tracks for some people.

This is actually a scene from 'Turning the Tables' in the future. Stay tuned. ;D

Did anyone else hear about Annie Hyena's latest contest, turning a picture from a search engine of a lion into a TLK version? Well I tried that but I made mine too realistic and went on an insane realism kick.

Chakaaah!! XD Chaka, the son of Simba and Nala before Kiara and Kovu suit the throne! Chaka is betrothed in secret to Yanga, without Simba's knowledge, and is Yanga's cubhood sweet heart and future mate.

He's fun. 8D I love his mohawk type hair. IS FUN. Kind of like a buzz cut mohawk. ANYWAY. Enjoy.

BEFORE YOU FLAME ME: Scar is NOT Uru's son in my "what if" universe. They are COMPLETELY unrelated, besides Uru adopting Taka as her son.

According to my "what if" theory, and I'm not saying this is canon, Mheetu is the son of Uru and Scar.

Just thought I'd do something different. :>

Yza got a tiny bit of a make over. His color as a cub changes when he becomes and adult. That was more of a mistake on my part. Somehow while trying to make a new color for his line art I got the exact same color as his pelt, so when I went back to check it I whited out his face. D: I flipped out so I darkened him a LOT.

This guy was kinda hard to draw too, but I still had a lot of fun drawing him. He's basically my idea of how Sarabi would look like in EXTREMELY BRIGHT LIGHTING and as a male.

I still love Izafi. She's amazing. Not my favorite because I think she's crazy nutzo, but still. A brown eyed villain in the TLK universe?! DEEESASTERR.

Yaaay Ulaza! 8D Ulaza was the one who really got me to decide to draw Ukue's last litter some reference sheets. If I had to pick a favorite out of the group who's on the good side, I'd have to pick her.

Ulaza was fun to draw. I tried to make her a taller, buffer version of Ukue with Cash's attitude. I think it worked out pretty well!

Oh and about her cub picture....I don't know what happened with her ears. D: Came out kinda wonky, didn't they?

Yoni's pose was inspired by this little plastic toy from my sister's room. 8D It's a go'geous toy and I've always wanted to draw him in the TLK style. So expect the actual toy in the future! 8D

What If

I was inspired by Maggot's take on the gender swapped version of every canon TLK character. :B

Thembai would be called 'Kuet,' because her name is spelled "Ukuethemba," which means 'have hope/faith.' She would be more like Ukue in that she is willful, but knows her place as a lioness. She was betrothed to Zira, a rogue who was taken in by Scar when he was a cub. ;)
Ukue would be called 'Luk, which is prounounced 'Leuk.' He's bisexual, and thinks he's in love with Zira. I always thought boy!Ukue would be unsure about his orientation.

The two of them gazed at each other for a while, frozen in time, and then they were running. Her best friend, her childhood sweet heart, her dear, dear Ahadi had returned to her. And all she could manage to say in a broken whisper was, "You came back...you came back!"

Redid Uru's design since a lot of people didn't seem to respond to her well.

BLOOD WARNING.
"Ah...Ahadi...?" Mohatu's cubhood friend tried weakly to lift his head. "Son....my only child...come back! Help your father to his feet, lad!"
"NO," Ahadi barked. When he turned, the pride gasped. They had never seen Ahadi cry before. "You deserve to die, you old fool. You are nothing to me. You are arrogant and you killed my mother. And further more," he turned his back on the pride one last time as the Ahadi they'd once known, "you are weak."
Years later, Uru could still never shake the
memory of Ahadi's black eyes from her mind.

Because not every tale about love is neither true nor happy.
I've always thought that in the canon universe, Scar and Zira were together, and maybe at first by choice, but later because of one small but endearing thing: misery loves company.
In the beginning I think they were pretty enfatuated by each other. But as we all know, either by experience or as a third party member, even supposedly destined lovers fade out of their 'Honeymoon phase.' Eventually, Scar's narcissistic, self-loving ways overpowered his affection for Zira, and either as a result or left to her own devices, Zira started to slip into a jealous insanity that made it impossible for her to rationalize the acts and emotions of others.

Colors: Black, yellow and red.

Ulaza (tan) and Ifazi (chocolate) are Ukue's youngest daughters. Ifazi was given charge of her brothers, Okotela and Yza, and their young cousin, Tambo, Thembai's last son.

The two argue about the worth of the males, with Ifazi throwing insults about her kin and their defections. Ulaza defends them to a fault, threatening to tell their parents what Ifazi has done, but Ifazi makes a clear and all to familiar threat:

"You don't want to turn your back on me, sister."

Cross Overs

"Maybe then I could be their king."
"Sora!"
"I'd have to refuse, of course....NOT!!"

I thought Sora was a bit of a snot in the Pride Lands level. (Kinda like Simba.) Here he is in his dream place, ruling over Pride Rock with that smirk on his face.

Lol not really. I just wanted to draw Sora on Pride Rock the same way Simba makes his entrance as a cub. Thought it came out well. :3 Used the official Sora lion form reference from google, so it was hard to get a good color that I liked. Took me at least five tries.
