Simba and Scar go to Disneyland... lol

My entry for the latest archive contest.

This took me aaages, I had it all beautifully inked by hand (rather than the pen tool I mean) and then I somehow messed up the layers and wasnt able to colour underneath so had to re-do the entire line art again :(

I now feel like Scar looks in this picture °_o

Well this did not come out as nicely as I intended, although I must say I re-did it twice before coming up with this: its's my little gift pic of Meerkat Queen's fursona, and as requested, drawn in Madagascar style.
I think I'm going to stick to TLK/my style in the future lol ^^

Update: Ok well, you guys came up with great and often funny quotes, and so it ended up being a tie between TamberElla, AnnieHyena and MeercatQueen! Zeven almost got in there, but I thought, I've already done her fursona before, so I should really consider the others first ^^

Thought it was about time to draw these two again ^^

Djuma (with mane) and Tamu survey the lands that will one day be theirs..

They are my versions of Kovu and Kiara's cubs. Djuma retains features of the Scar/Kovu line and Tamu resembles more his mother and in later life, Mufasa (who in my opinion Kiara takes after anyway).

And here it is: the final coloured version of my canon re-draw trade half with TUS. I chose her picture Bullies.

Hope I've done it justice, Toos!

Oh, and just wanted to add that I had no trouble getting the colours right on this one, cos I used TUS's brilliant colours charts for the original TLK characters - I definitely recommend them for any FAA member who's serious about their canon artwork.

Well, I thought it was about time I uploaded something, and at the same time I decided to try and refurbish my style slightly.
Muffy got the experimental treatment. (I used an old sketch as the base, I may well have uploaded a similar picture before).
Anyhoo, thanks to Kourukon's rather nifty Pen Tool tutorial, I managed to smooth out my lineart, which was my main problem.

So here's the result - I'd love to know what you guys think ^^

Contest entries

For the latest contest: Mommy and Daddy.

I decided to take a different angle than most people: I decided to look at the characters who didn't really have parents, or who didn't really have parents in the functional sense. So I took Kovu: we don't know who his dad was, and let's face it, Zira was a terrible mother. So then I thought, what about when she died? And then I thought, I know loads of mothers who absolutely coddle and cherish their sons-in-laws.

And then I drew this...

Contest entries

This pic was originally created for one of Cat B's character contests, but I think it fits this contest perfectly too. (And it was created specifically for a contest, so I think its ok to use it again).

I've drawn Kiara coming across the paintings that Rafiki has done in his old tree of Kovu and Kiara herself (along with Simba's original painting of course). And so Kiara is wondering what it all means - how did her new friend Kovu end up in Rafiki's tree? Does Kovu hold a place with her in the Circle of Life?

Kiara gets a lot of bad press. But she had a pretty troubled childhood, with all the tension between Outlanders and Pridelanders, and not understanding the real fears behind Simba's determination to keep her away from "danger."

Ingo gets the tablet treatment. I like using the tablet. I feel my drawings are much more "true" to how I really draw - not quite the same effect when I scanned and then inked and coloured pictures.

My sort of gifty/trade thingy for TUS who kindly agreed to make a Tigan for me.
I wanted to try out a semi-realistic style, especially after being inspired by that wonderful painting of Spirit that TUS showed me. (I think it was Va-kasi who painted it?)
Anyhoo, here's the result. It TUS's Tigan Nava.

I did a similar picture before of Nala and Scar on Pride Rock, but it had Zira and others in it. I wanted to do a picture with just the two of them, so this is the result.
