It had been years ago that the dunes started to drift in from the desert. Slowly and relentlessly the sand devoured the Pridelands. Kiara, queen of the pridelands and ruler in nothing but name, stood with Dotty. The two of them were all that was left, everyone else had perished.

Kiara always came back to her former home each year with her only friend on the exact day they had left. Seeking comfort and guidance of the hot desert winds.
