21. Friends

I've returned from the deep! And so have the 100 pics. :)
I've got to apologize if anyone's confused why my numbers don't match up with anyone elses. I'm doing a different challenge.

Anyway. I've actually had other ideas admidst this, but it was a tough project (100% paint, bg done after subjects because I always forget) and I wanted to get it done. Paint really is a fantastically fun program and has some wonderful traits other programs lack. Don't doubt it, guys. It just takes more patience.

Actually...this was a trade with CGW I signed up for in September. :|
I'm really sorry for being so late, especially since she kept me posted so well when she was "running late" with her half!

Anyway, it's the scene where the hyena trio meets Scar for the first time...I had a lot of fun with this one, and spent a -lot- of time on all aspects, so I hope you like it, CGW! :)

And good news- this was the last of those 2-4-1 trades, so I'm now scotch-free of expected uploads! :P Nice feeling.

This is actually a trade so late I don't even -want- to tell you. My final half of a trade for Kallico. :)

I was trying to give it a more realistic feel, but it just wasn't working with the style of the picture, so I opted for a more laid-back style. And gosh, if I had known that's how it would have ended up being, I wouldn't have wasted weeks making it realistic. e_e

For my last half of my half of my trade with Nashida. As per her request, I gave her Kovu and Kopa playing (on Kovu's side of the river).

Now, this trade was from waaaay back in September (as are a few I still have to do...) and so to make up for my horrendous tardiness, I tried to make it the best picture I possibly could. I have never in my life spent so much time on background details, so I hope you like it, Nashida!
Sorry for the wait. And yes, I'm going to try and do this well (or better?) on the other trades I'm still late with...eheh.

You might not believe it, but this is the ending of my trade with Griffinsong. Hehehe. I'm so depressingly behind on these, so sorry, guys!

Amid a few semi-realistic lions and lionesses (and a paw) there's two Pierres and two Samis, an elephant, and also a Tus. Hehehe. I plan on finishing that Tus later.

2nd Sketch Dump! This time featuring my favorite of the literally THOUSANDS of Razzi's I've drawn in school. Probably have millions of eraser crumbs lying around the world due to me doodling and erasing her. XD She's fun because every single time she turns out differently. <3
Of note would be the anthro Razzi (whose really cool irl), underside Razzi which was amazingly fun to draw, glue-Razzi (made out of...glue...) and PAPARAZZI. HE'S BACK. <3 (Evil version of razzi, recently redesigned and almost as fun to draw as his counterpart. Heh. My fursona has a fursona.)
I doodled him on my whiteboard and then compared him to Razzi the next day in chemistry.

First of a series of sketch dumps you're gonna get. >:D
These are my favorite of my canon doodles during school last year that were not erased/deleted. All are from memory, so excuse the crappiness. XD
There's Ni (twice) as an old lion, next to Dhalika (noncanon, sorry) and a Kovu who I love. And Razzi jumped in too. I'll probably actually finish that doodle, cause I love it. <3
"Zazu"'s in the middle, disfigured depressingly. He's next to Pumbaa, and they're kind of close to a bunch of Simba and random lion poses...things. Mufasa's on the bottom, next to Ni. Again.

Woo!
For a canon trade with Tamu!! As per request, a lovely Scarifina moment as the young couple walks in the early morning light.

Don't even know how this came out of my tablet pen, actually. The style is like...Kourukon, NQN, Kalei, Lucky, and some other amazing people blended up. Not me. And the bg...is actually a real, time-consuming bg.
So...if you're suprised to see that I drew this, trust me, I am too. :D
Drawn over the course of a night and a morning, although sketching other various ideas for these two took way longer than it needed.

My goodness. This took me...so long. That crappy wall alone took me over three hours and I didn't bother watching the clock for anything else.

For Fanart100

Finally got off my lazy tail and did "white". :P I've had the idea forever, and it actually turned out even nicer than I expected. Stylization is so much fun. :)

Kovu and Kiara
Love sweet as sugar, gentle as snow, fresh as a canvas, and pure...as white.
(plus the white ash that gathers around them is pretty sweet awesome.)

Started this a good long while ago when there was some tension in the air, but I messed up layers so it took forever. Still poses a good message...about getting along and friendship and all.
And I have dubbed the pridelander lioness (who must be reeeeeally old because I got her from a TLK1 screenshot after Mufasa's death announcement) Daphne.
Update: I'm adding this to the contest. I always intended on making a picture for the contest about the feelings of those effected other than Vitani and the other main characters, but then I remembered I already had this one. I thought perhaps drawing the contention would a)take too long as there's only 4 days left and b) might ruin the initial message I had a bit. So yes. Now it's in the contest!

16.Purple
For Fanart100

Yus, this one's being 'ploded quite early because I had it done. I accidently thought Purple came before Blue and drew it first. :P Razzi sure knows her rainbow!
Anywhoo. Its an experiment on many measures- a lineart excersise, half-view excersise, a fake-hatching/ fake realism excersise, and a toning warm-up. Good fun.
I chose Mufasa because Purple is the color of regalness and royalty. Doncha think he looks good in purple? :P

Inspired by those luffy books from my childhood that were all white except for shades of one color- red, yellow, brown, ect. :) I love those books still.
Also inspired by the fact I asked my friend what she thought of when I said "yellow" and she said "the sun and a baloon".
Anyway. Very fast, very easy, very satisfying. :D

Orange- the color of transition, the color of change. The color between yellow, a sign of no cares and happiness, and red, the color of pain, war, and blood.

Orange is also the color of fruit, but that's neither pertinent nor poetic. ;)

Each month, Kovu, Kiara, and their cubs (oh noes, I've given them cubs! And possibly a story to go with! D: ;)) would go out under the full moon, telling stories of the Great Kings, their pasts, speak of their presents, and dream of their futures.

Took me quite a few sittings to finish this'un. But I'm happy.

*sigh* I've really got to choose a style, either get more patient with my trees/rocks/bushes/ect or get more patient and draw grass by hand. Because the partially-realistic grass brush doesn't meld well with my amazing jungle. So realistic!

<< If I was a creative and patient artist I would have some funny comic, probably including the fact that lions have no perception of hours like we do. Instead, I did a picture of Kiara. I hadn't drawn her properly yet.

She's been hunting for HOURS and still can't catch anything. :P

Wherever she's hunting (or attempting to) is a pretty awesome place 'cause it leaves no pawprints of either Kiara or her prey, and theres no trees or bushes around! :O

Originally Sarafina was in there snuggling with Nala and a few random lionesses were scattered about. But first I got lazy, then I got lazier. Then I drew Mufasa and Sarabi and got really detail-crazy, so now this turned into kind of just a picture of them with Simba (who was supposed to be the subject) in the BG. Oh well. (They're INSIDE the cave)

The end of the hyenas, the end of the drought, the end of Scar, the end of the Movie.

This took me a very long time, but I am really pleased with the turnout. Please tell me if you think this is too graphic, but honestly, I think what the hyenas did was worse than...this. (But I can still clean it up a bit if its not appropriate for TLKFAA.)

1. Beginnings

I'm attempting to do Fanart100 (this thing where you draw 100 pictures, all with one-word prompts, of a certain fandom. I'm not officially a member, but oh well. :P) and I'm very excited! 100+ canon pictures!

This one took a -lot- longer than it should have, with the sun's reflection. I can't seem to get the smudge/blur tools to work correctly so I get no good effects. And the clouds were a headache too. D: Maybe someday I'll redo this with actual technique. ;)

I was -going- to do this cool Simba-comes-back-to-kick-Scar's-tail picture as my first back from my hiatus (sorry I was gone so long! All my programs were uninstalled) but I just wasn't really motivated enough, so I did a cutesy picture of baby Sarabi instead.

It kind of turned out all freaky-geometric-ish, thanks to my inexperiance with cel-shading. But oh well, its just practice. :)

Part of a trade with Timitu. I'm thrilled to say her half is going to be a streetpainting of Razzi! :D

Also- I'm going to go on vacation for about two weeks straight, leaving tomorrow. I will only have internet access on the 5th and 6th, but I might not even get on until about the 13th. So don't expect me to comment or accept emails or anything until then. :P See you all later!

I was listening to TLKoB soundtrack and thinking about TLK (who knew Razzi thought about TLK??) and I realized to the hyenas, Scar's not really more than a food provider...so I got this image in my head.

I'm really quite pleased with it for the most part but I was really lazy with the furniture and oh-so exciting resturant walls BG. D:

Figured I'd upload the sketch version of this picture because I think its intresting. For this particular pic, I just did a quick quick sketch and then did Mufasa's line-art right over (for some reason he's easy to do that with :P) but Scar is a better sketch because I seriuosly, seriously messed him up. And the TNT box has funky half-lines because I was erasing a bomb that I was considering using instead.
So yeah. Enjoy. :P
