"The zebras are 300 feet ahead in the north west," Sarabi said, perching on a tree root to get a better view over the tall grass.
"Alright everyone," Sarafina said, turning to the lioness at her side and the two that approached from behind. "Are you ready to kick some zebra behind?"
The lionesses nodded and smiled enthusiastically, but stifled their laughter so not to scare the herd.
Sarabi smiled before she turned to the lioness on her right. "Stalk ahead and circle to the front. We'll be right behind you..."

Taka lie snuggly between his mother’s paws. He was a dark cub with a flop of black hair which covered his bright green eyes if he did not keep it pushed back. A smile of content spread beneath the cub’s whiskers as the first warm rays of the morning touched the tips of his paws like a gentle whisper: wake up! He opened his eyes happily, listening to the gentle breathing of the other lions pressed around him...

Ahadi growled.
"Why is he angry at me?" Taka wondered, a lump in his throat.
"You were outside the borders..." Ahadi hissed.
Uru brome in. "Ahadi, please..." she begged. "He's only a cub..."
"That's no excuse." Ahadi growled, staring at the trembling cub.

What happened next, changed Taka's life... forever.

The dawn after she met Kovu, Kiara woke. She hadn't slept well. "Why?" she thought as she made her way out of the cave, after sneaking out from under her father's paws. "Why can't I play with Kovu? He might be an outsider, but he was so fun to be with." Kiara sat down at the edge of Pride Rock, watching the sky as the sun got higher.
"What's wrong?" Sarafina's voice asked.
Kiara didn't answer, so Sarafina laid down next to her granddaughter. Kiara snuggled into her paws as she asked, "Why, can't I play with Kovu, Grandmother?"
Kiara watched Sarafina's expression change. She looked to the horizon, toward the outlands. "Because your father wants to protect you," she said.
"From what?" Kiara asked.
"Zira..."

Simba struggled to keep up with the strange baboon that called himself Rafiki. His size was problem enough, but the jungle itself seemed to be holding him back. However, Simba's determination pushed him through the thick growth. Was his father truly alive?

For the "Art of Music" contest. I've always, always loved the "Lala theme" during this scene. It gets me excited and makes me want to cheer Simba on as he runs through the jungle.

"What'd you do, kid?" Pumbaa asked.
The question, though asked without meaning to offend or hurt, cut Simba to his heart and tormented his soul. He leaned against the kind warthog next to him and wept freely. "I- I killed him," he sobbed.
Pumbaa, who felt the cub's sorrow dampen his thin fur, knew better than to ask any more.

My entry for the "Decisions" contest. What if Simba decided to tell Pumbaa and Timon about what he did to be an "outcast?" I think it would've made Pumbaa want to adopt Simba more. What do you think?

In real life... Simba would LOVE being cleaned. He wouldn't be whining or complaining one bit. In fact, cubs are always looking for free cuddles from their moms and even lick them repeatedly until they return the favor. ^^

Everyone always draws Simba roaring at the end of TLK, but what about the lionesses who joined him?
