1) The Lion King world

Hey look, it's Nyonda! :) Been a while since we've seen him, huh?

I found an old .psd file in my computer; I'd only inked and colored this guy, while the rest of the picture was still a sketch. I decided to just ditch the scene and focus on Nyonda's face, allowing me to go into more detail with the shadows and fur. I rather like the result! I think this portrays his character really well.

7) Savannah

A continuation of my previous installment, for that ongoing contest in the local newspaper. I think either all the good ones got used up or people lost interest, because the paper's been printing some pretty lame ones these past few weeks. Hopefully this will offer some reprieve. :)

Plus it made me get back into Photoshop for the first time in months. I really should upload more.

4) around TLKFAA

My part of the Lilymud Secret Santa Project. This is Jezzabelle, the new-ish fursona of The Gaugamay Angel. Jezz is an anthro Norwegian Forest Cat, so turning her into a lioness was a bit of a challenge! But I had so much fun working in this. Merry Christmas...to you, TGA, and to everyone! :)

It's high time I showed some appreciation for my younger sister, the sweetest, nicest, loving-est little sis I could ever hope to have. I love you, Uki!

I'm sending this to a local store that will make it into a jigsaw puzzle, and that will be her Christmas present! Cool, huh?

P.S. Those lyrics are from the Candy Dulfer song, "Girls Should Stick Together."

3) crossovers and anthro

This is the art I made for my page for my high school's yearbook: seniors get their own personal pages. I'm on a college-visit trip right now, so I had a laptop and PS Elements but no tablet! I "drew" this picture via extensive use of the Line Tool. It took forever, and I'm proud of the result.

Anyway, this is so you can get to know me better. Items featured: glasses, Quadratic Formula shirt, sax case and music folder, varied schoolbooks, graphing calculator, pencil, clogging shoes. All of these things are actually mine. (Unlike Mah's trademark purple hoops, which sadly do not exist in the real world.)

I've finally reached my nth birthday, where n is a prime number equal to 2 ln e + 2(10) - 25^.5!

This took about an hour and a half to throw together in the middle of the night before my birthday. My parents would kill me if they knew I was awake right now. But I just HAD to make some special art for the special day! :)

1) The Lion King world

Why didn't I hear about Canon Days sooner? I would have gotten something in on time! I guess you could count this as a sort of "delayed" entry. Seriously, I need to draw more canon.

Also did this for the "Vitani as a cub" contest over on The Lion King Source. I did a lot of screenshot studying to try to get her face to look at least CLOSE to how she actually looks. It's harder than you think.

And don't ask me what the Chinese is doing there! I just felt like incorporating some calligraphy into a picture. It's supposed to say, "lioness cub." I know, so original. Probably got it wrong anyway.

"Kovu..."

WIP collab between me and Kovu 01. He requested the subject of the picture and will be doing the coloring. I just sketched and inked. ^^

NOTE: Since this is a collaboration between the two of us, only my partner has access to the clean ink-only version of this picture. You can try to color it if you want, though.

If this doesn't look like my usual Disney-esque style, then you're right. Award yourself a cookie.

My local newspaper is running a comics contest, open to all ages. People make a comic strip and send it in. A different strip is chosen each week and gets printed at the top of the comics page. Naturally I decided to enter: what better way to show off my lions? ^^ However, I tried specifically NOT to make it look like a dead ringer for The Lion King. It would be very unbecoming of a newspaper to endorse a movie franchise. Hence you should notice a few minor changes to the way I usually draw and color lion characters, if you look carefully.

6) The Circle of Life Project

Adolescent Jothra, version 2.0!

A few months ago it hit me: Mufasa, Scar, Simba, and even Nuka all have manes that trail down their chests, but Kovu does not. That's because he's in his late teens. So I decided to try the short-mane look with Jothra, and I personally like it waaaay better than my other version of him. Isn't he cute now? (If we follow through with this logic, Kovu will have to be drawn with the longer mane style during the story.)

1) The Lion King world

He still dreams of her...

For those of you who don't know, this is my version of Kovu's father, Nyonda. I've written a story about him and Zira growing up together: it's on FanFiction.net somewhere. Haven't written the romance yet, but it's coming!

My gosh. This picture took a while. But I'm really glad I did it! Nyonda REALLY needed an update. The way I used to draw him just wasn't working. => NyondaCharSheet.png
