The mud seeped up from the ground as she padded through the sandy soil. She was following a voice that had awoken her early that morning. Vitani stopped and listened again. Then she recognized the voice.
"Kopa?" She gasped as she saw the brown hair.
She started running toward him. He looked up and rushed towards her.
"But, how? My mother told me she killed you, they even found your body!"
"I've been asleep for a while now. I woke after they left me in the field, I'm still very much alive."
Vitani was crying. "I thought I'd never see you again, Kopa..."
"Well here I am."
