For the current contest "Tribute to Disney"

I put the description on the picture as I often run out of space writing it here. The idea is really silly, but it was late last night when it popped into my head lol.

Rafiki is reffed as always, and so are Baloo and Bagheera because I never draw them ^_^ I slapped the bg together because I got bored with it. So overall it was a little rushed, but I wanted to get it in before the idea was ninja'd! XD

Also, I know not all the characters are lionised, but it just wouldn't work otherwise (besides, Bagheera is already a cat!)

An expectant Sarabi and Mufasa take a stroll through the pridelands.

This is mostly just background practice (reffed from a screenshot, obviously). Muffy's face is also reffed as I couldn't remember how exactly he looked lol ^_^, Sarabi is proudly unreffed :D and my rocks! *points* they're the best thing I've done in ages lol ^_^

Just some boring Simbas, trying to get my hands to do what I want them to do again, so I went into sketcher and drew the top Simba, which I quite like :) Usually my sketcher drawings come out terrible, but this one's decent ^_^ The ORLY? Simba cub was sketched in sketcher (but it kept kicking me out) so I finished it in Photshop elements 5 -haven't used that program in a while. The angry Simba was in my Paint Tool SAI files for a couple of weeks. He's not finished and I don't think he ever will be.

I'm in the middle of doing a trade with firefly_night. She asked me to draw Kovu and Kopa playing together as adolescents, which is such a cute idea ^^. Anywhoo, this isn't the finished product, this is just a warm-up picture as I was trying to figure out how they may both look as teens. After I had done the sketch, I quite liked it so I inked and coloured ^_^

The trade picture will be drawn up shortly, I have some action poses I'd like to try out :D

On another note I should really draw less lions and focus on some of the other animals again, but I'm not going to have too much time in the upcoming months :(

Sketcher dump.

Ed and Scar were drawn today (Scar is my fave on the page), Pumbaa and Nala were drawn quite a long time ago, and the unfinished leopard was something I found whilst going through my files, I don't know when I did it :)

Tojo and his birdies! Tojo has a slightly less Disney-esque face than I would normally draw, and I can't draw birds it seems :p

Really boring Kopa pic with colours that a little strange looking o.O

I'm just uploading this as I doodled it whilst working on another pic that I will upload here soon, but don't like it very much so far. I'm just in a "blah" mood where I think all my art is "blah", dontcha just hate those? D8

Things are a bit blah in real life aswell, I think it's the lack of good weather and the supreme overbearingness of grey clouds in the sky that has everyone grumpy lately (ah Irish summers)

Cutie-pie Sarabi cub ( I still have Paint tool SAI! Yay!)

Currently in the middle of doing a request pic for Yuma cub, but it's not coming out too great, so if you're reading Yuma, sorry it's taking so long!

Also, the current contest theme is spookily coincidental, seeing as how only the other I was listening to that particular piece of music and thinking I wanted to do a painting inspired by it o.O

Coloured version of the lineart I did the other night.

Unfortunately my Paint Tool SAI trial ended before I got to finidh it, I was going to put so much more detail into it :( I then bought the license for SAI, but my computer is having trouble with it, and I unzipped the folder and put the license in htere like I was told and still nada! I hope the help people can get back to me again, or I at least hope I can get my money back! So annoying >:(

So it will be back to using Photoshop elements 5 for me now.

There's lots of theories about Taka/Scar being being cute and innocent before jealousy and bullying changed him, but what if he was just plain born evil?

Not to happy with it, I just can't draw lately for some reason my hands aren't working like they're supposed to >:{ hence Mufasa's eyes being too far apart and Simba's being too close together.

"First you are chosen to be King and now you take Sarabi away from me! Mufasa, I-Hate-You" The words seethed from Taka's mouth with pure resentment. This was the last straw Mufasa would take, and he had taken so much from his brother at this point, but those 3 words- he couldn't abide them. Pure rage coursed through every muscle in his body, and before he knew it, his heavy paw had swung across his brother's face. Both young lions stood there in horror.

"Taka..what have I done?" Mufasa uttered meekly...

I'm sure other people have the same idea as me as to how Taka became scarred. I think we see a glimpse into how it was when Mufasa is speaking to Scar after he doesn't show up for Simba's presentation.

I liked how it came out on that, so I decided to make it into a proper pic. It's not one of my bst :/ I like how Nala came out, she's one of the most accurate Nala's I've done...but Simba looks a little off

Reupload: Fixed Simba's nose profile, much happier with him now :)

Re-reupload: Changed Simba's eyes and made his nose smaller, hopefully he looks more like himself now :)

This is one I started doing a long time ago on the new version of Paint, which I wasn't happy with so I just left it. Well I found it again and decided "why not finish it?"

Timon is comforting Simba after another bad dream, and wondeing why the cub won't tell him all about it :(

Reupload: Made Zira's body longer and got rid of her chestiness. My anatomy is really suffering lately, I must do some observation work of real lions again.

For the current contest :)

Well, you have to admit, one undeniably good thing about Kiara is that she brought happiness and fun into Kovu's bleak life and showed him that there was much more to life than vendetta. We all look for a sense of humour and sense of fun in our respective partners and that's why Kovu fell for Kiara; she opened up this new world for him :) (although Disney could have handled this transition better lol)

Anyway, here is the future King and Queen sharing a little happiness together on the pridelands

EDIT: Didn't use a ref, and I only realise now that Kiara's paws should be lightly coloured *slaps self* aw well, it's not bad for my first go at her XD

Simba dump. All done on sketcher with varying degrees of success/failure.

I like the 3 top heads, I had (and still have no) no pen pressure when I enter sketcher, so I just sketched these in a low opacity and I quite like the result.

EDIT: This is getting a few faves? o.O Well, wonders never cease, and I was almost not going to upload this *slaps thigh* or should i pawface?

Spontaneous pic, did this quite quickly, hence why Timon looks a bit off. I like that style that some people use where they make the silhouette outline thick, I think it makes it look even more cartooney :3. So here's my lazy attempt (ultra-lazy bg lol). Also tried slightly different shanding technique to my usual soft-brush shading (and I recently discovered that PS elements 5 has the burn and dodge tool too (I thought it didn't!), so here's a little dodge in there for good measure).

ZOMG WTFudgecakes? A Rafiki - here?? :p

Yep first Rafiki to enter my gallery. I only drew him once before (and that was a copy of a screenshot so no uploading of that). This is referenced, as I have no idea how to draw rafiki. So I got up a few pics of him on the comp screen, sketched them roughly on paper to get a feel for him, closed them; then I went and did this straight onto PS elements 5 with a tablet. I think the result isn't half bad, I should try to include Rafiki more :D

I did this on one layer in about 10 or so minutes, with no refs. I'm quite proud of it as I think it's probably the most accurate pictures of Scar that I've done so far *brags* lol. I think I'm finally getting the hang of that difficult nose of his (except for the fact that's a little on the large side here :-/). Ah well, not bad for a quickie.

"I know the sun, the sun will rise"

I LOVE the song "Endless Night" from TLKoB. During the song, I always imagine Simba sneaking away in the night from sleeping Timon & Pumbaa, and thinking to himself about the past. The songs begins so dispairingly, but ends on such a hopeful note. I always imagine him running through the jungle then, to let it all out, and standing high on a rocky ledge to catch the hopeful sunrise as he belts out the last notes.

of course, the image in my head is MUCH better than what I've done with my hands here :( I didn't stay too long at it because of that*pulls hair in frustration*. Anyway it'll do...

Just such a gorgeous song and a beautiful performance from Jason Raize(RIP)

OK last dump for a while I promise!

It's just that I think most of my art should be in one big sketchdump as I think alot of it really doesn't stand up well on it's own.

Anyway I'm somewhat proud os the un-reffed kovu and the two Timons, but I don't much like the 3 Simbas or the feaky meerkat girl :/ I was trying to come up with a meerkat-sona for me and it went awry!

The lone meerkat bristled as he heard a rustle through the grass. He was so vulnerable on his own, in the open-against every instinct he owned-but he had no choice since he became seperated from his mob.He froze, fur on end, as a warthog came into view. The warthog could barely see the small creature with his bad vision, but the scent told him there was no threat.They stared each other down for a matter of seconds, & each went on their seperate way. The meerkat would probably not survive for much longer as his own as he darted into the long grass...

We all know that in real life, warthogs and meekats are not best of friends. Things would have ended badly for Timon :( . I threw this together in 40mins coz I really should be studying ><

Sarabi and Mufasa as cubs playing. Looks like Mufasa used to get pwned by Sarabi too ^^. Sketcher was moody and kicked me out, so I finished on PS elements. It wasn't originally meant to be them, but sorta went that way...

I was bored and thought about how I need to do more backgrounds. So I set a little excersize for myself. I did it on MSpaint because I wanted to keep it as simple as possible, none of this layers, million brushtypes and opacity malarky ;)

So hopefully from now on I will do more backgrounds. This is pretty crap but it's a start. It's another thing I will have to ref in the future.
Please don't mind the crapiness of Simba and Nala also, they're just there for the sake of it lol.

Simba lineart.
