Aww I've practically missed canon week this year D: I also planned on doing some big pic for the current contest but I don't have the patience or the time at the moment. So here is a bad little drawing of Simba and Pumbaa done with my old Crayola pencils!

lol it actually doesn't look so bad in person.

Will watch the TLK today in a belated celebration of it's anniversary. Who knows, I may get inspired again :D

Sorry I haven't been around much guys, my internet connection is pretty bad & it doesn't help that this site can be down a good bit (but that's only coz it's popular).

This was supposed to be part of an entry I was thinking of doing for the last contest about Rafiki. That's supposed to Mohatu but looks more like Muffy XD. Maybe I'll get it finished someday.

Boring headshot trying out yet another painting style! I drew this on one layer, filled in the BG first then put down a purple base and filled in colours from there. There was no sketch/lineart or ref for this (explains the wonky nose), 40 mins tops. I started out trying this style with Fuzzbuckets-121352469

Why am I trying different techniques? Because my brain does not make "what-ifs" lol!

Boring and wonky picture, but I really needed to draw something that was quite sweet rather than sad as therapy. Some of you will know from Lilymud that my beloved cat Flossie passed away on Saturday morning, and I miss her dreadfully. So I started to draw TLK to try make me feel better. It helped a little. I haven't drawn them in a while though so they look strange I think. However, I always draw smiling, I need to get new expressions >:(

Not the normal vent-type picture, but it is that nonetheless.

I adopted him from DJCoulz. Basically she drew a few cubs and in order to adopt, you had to draw them in an adult form: ADOPTABLES-Lot-2-118057948 Mines the 5th one down, I've called him Zahir :D

I hope to draw more TLK stuff soon, I'm a bit busy IRL at the moment, and a little lacking in inspiration and drive but I hope that will pass soon.

Canon Trades/Requests

Art trade with Cubbie, who asked for Nala and Sarafina on a hunt. It wasn't mentioned whether Nala shold be adult or cub, so I decided Sarafina should be taking her young daughter out for a few observational lessons :)

I spent so long on this and I don't really like it, something seems to be missing *shrugs* Maybe some antelope or zebra would have looked nice but I was losing my patience with the wildebeest. Also, Sarafina turned out like a Nala-clone more than sarafina :/

Ah well.

T & P as lil'uns :)

Just ignore TLK3 (or 1&1/2 as it's also known)for the moment and pretend they met as children, both had no-one else to play with so they became fast friends. I'd say they got up to some mischief just outside the Pridelands; most of their adventures would have involved finding food back then too XD

It took me three hours to get home from work today because of snow! *Not Happy*

Anyway, because I have nothing good to show you I made another sketch dump. The Simbas were both done a while ago, and I don't really like them, but I am quite fond of the style I did Scar and the random lioness in a couple of days ago ^_^

Wanted to do something for the contest, I'm afraid I have nothing original to offer :)

Purples pinks and yellows (it was really supposed to be mainly purples and yellow, but the spectrum tipped over into pink as well); I think they're romantic and peaceful ^_^

100 pic Challenge

#11: Memory

The triumph had been celebrated and the rain had washed the plains afresh. In the breaking daylight Sarabi nudged her son. She wanted to know all that had happened on that day before Scar brought home grim news and lies. They all gathered to hear, Timon and Pumbaa hearing for the first time the past that their friend kept so quiet for all these years.

Simba finally reiterated out loud what he had relived in his memory so many times.

Realistic (ish)

Whoa this took me quite a while to do. Trying to figure out different things on Photoshop elements. The leopard was originally more blue, but I changed the colours through that neat "enhance colour" selection. The "detail" on the leaves was the last thing I did, and at that point I was getting bored ^_^

No photo reference used, so there are mistakes I'm sure (such as the face, it looks more like a cross between a lion and a jaguar more than a leopard) but I'm quite happy overall with this. This time last year I couldn't have produced anything like this at all as I hadn't a clue :)

EDIT: Okay so his head bothered me ALOT, so I hope he now looks more leopard-ish than before :)

Realistic (ish)

So I get over art block when I should be studying, go figure XD

Doodled this whilst some wildlife documentary was on; I forgot what amazing animals hyenas are :)

Style is different to my usual, but I'm trying to experiment a 'lil more and am influenced by others I admire here :) I quite like the result.

I dunno if I should flesh this girlie out or not (seeing as I never draw my own chars)

100 pic Challenge

#26: Tears

Once nightfall had come, Scar wandered to the most secluded area in the Pridelands that he could find. He still couldn't believe the only yesterday Uru had been there and now, now her body was limp forever and her spirit had made its way to the stars.

Scar stoicly shed Taka's last tears.

Never did one fall from his eye again.

For the current contest "Tribute to Disney"

I put the description on the picture as I often run out of space writing it here. The idea is really silly, but it was late last night when it popped into my head lol.

Rafiki is reffed as always, and so are Baloo and Bagheera because I never draw them ^_^ I slapped the bg together because I got bored with it. So overall it was a little rushed, but I wanted to get it in before the idea was ninja'd! XD

Also, I know not all the characters are lionised, but it just wouldn't work otherwise (besides, Bagheera is already a cat!)

I don't think it conveys an older Kovu, I think he still looks very young - Ah well not many things I draw come out like I want, I'm used to it.

Just hope Terry'll like it :)

Semi-Canon

Request for Jwalraven. Finally done, I didn't forget about you! ;3

Anyway, was a little tired of drawing lions the whole time, so out of Jwal's character's I chose Bhati and her meerkat friend Tesma. They're her designs of the original concept characters. I chose Zazu as the Canon char they would meet ^_^

Feel free to put your own interpretation to what he's telling them - in my head he was looking for his girlfriend, Binti, as there's something he wants to tell her lol ^_^
