A young Ahadi before his head and elbow tufts grow in. He still has fluffy hair, though. ^^

Kiara may not have been brave or strong or smart, but her great-grandmother Uru was all three. However, that princess had her own secret fears.

It was a cruel irony that Uru was named "diamond", because a diamond was a gem of stunning beauty. Uru knew she wasn't beautiful; she wasn't even cute, like so many other young lionesses she knew. Her body was muscled and heavyset, her face was homely. Uru's favorite feature, her namesake marking, was too far back on her head to be of much notice.

Uru was brave and strong and smart, and she knew she should be proud of that. But sometimes she would gaze at the skies, brokenhearted, wishing that just for once she too could be flirted with because she was beautiful, and not just the princess.

Hey look, it's Panya again! And this time he's with his friends who appeared with him in the "Talking Tree" comic: PanyaPic

Not sure what the little gray creature was supposed to be, but I've made him a Cape Ground Squirrel. I'm going to call him Kindi, which means "squirrel" in Swahili.

As for the young antelope thing, his horns resemble an impala: WebImpala01.jpg but his coloring is certainly different. His name will be Rau, derived from the Swahili word for "gentle".

I haven't done an animation for a while so I decided to try out a new method, the one on TLKFAAwiki. It came out alright for a first try, I think, though parts of it bug me. XD

Teen Ahadi is my test dummy because I like drawing him lately.

Adolescent Panya meets Ahadi.

From the context in the Talking Tree comic, it seems that Panya is from a generation older than Simba's. So this is kind of a "what if" Panya was the same age as Ahadi, father of Mufasa and Scar. They encounter each other on the edge of Ahadi's desert home.

I am very pleased with how the young Ahadi turned out but I really need to practice drawing Panya. *sigh* Still waffling on his mane color as well...not sure how I feel about the gray. Perhaps it's back to the drawing board.

Superfast little Sketcher pic of "what if" Uru and Ahadi were cubs together (they never meet at this age in my version of canon). I don't really like how Uru turned out--and her headstripe looks odd cause it's too far down on her forehead--but I kind of like Ahadi.

This is supposed to be like a storybook. Quality's poor, but you can watch it. I recommend checking out the Word document or PDF, as those are most like what I envisioned. All pics drawn in Sketcher.

Here's the scoop: The character Mohatu (Mufasa and Scar's grandfather) appears in the book "The Brightest Star", along with another lion. (I decided they're brothers.) This story is about Mohatu telling Muffy about his brother Choyo.

First time drawing my hawk character Stripes that I adopted some time ago. He is the advisor to Zulika, Ahadi's father. He's also the one who first suggests to Ahadi that leaving the pride would be the cub's best option because of how Zulika mistreats him.

P.S. - No bird profile today because I've been working hard on a contest entry.

Ahadi stood on the border of the unfamiliar lands, a gentle breeze rippling through his growing mane. He had heard of the great king Mohatu, and hoped in his heart that here, at last, he could find a life of peace.

I think I'll put this in the site contest, even though it's so late. Finished version of a pencil sketch I uploaded earlier. For those who don't know, Ahadi is the father of Mufasa and Scar. Your comments and/or votes are welcome! :)
