APRIL FOOLS!

You are permitted to throw objects, throw punches, and otherwise insult me now. I'm not leaving--that would be crazy! And I don't think I've lost *that* much of my mind yet. ;) I'm afraid you'll have to put up with me for a long time, because I'm definitely going to stick around.

^^ Sorry for pranking you, but the opportunity was too good to pass up. A select band of cohorts assisted me; thank you, partners-in-pranking! I especially apologize to those sucked into the Sketcher dramaz Majordomo and I staged...muahaha. And I was really touched by some of the comments you guys left on my "going-away" picture. Thanks. <3

Some of you got it (party poopers!) but I hope it was good enough to at least keep you wondering... ;)

I've done a lot of thinking on this, and some of my friends on here know I came to a decision about what to do a couple of weeks ago.

TLKFAA has been a wonderful place for me to share my art with you and I've enjoyed the experience. My AotM speech mentioned how I look to improve myself...which applies not only in art, but in real life. Things are hectic for me right now, and I need to address some personal issues.

I'm satisfied with where I've finally reached in my TLK work, and I've accomplished every goal culminating with AotM. I say goodbye to you all in the hope that you are as at peace with my choice as I am.

I'll finish any trades, etc. but consider this my last pic at TLKFAA. My gallery will stay up. I'll miss you guys!

So I was seriously sick yesterday and today, some kind of stomach virus...I spent all of last night waking up and being sick and waiting for morning to come so I could go to Campus Health...then I had to walk all the way across campus to get there...their computer systems were down so I went to Urgent Care...I was seriously dehydrated and nauseous, so they had to give me IV fluids...took them three stabs with the needle before they found a vein...I spent 5 hours there alone in a tiny corner of their Urgent Care center while they tried to rehydrate me and fed me pretzels and Powerade...and I still feel miserable.

I just wish I were little again and my parents could take care of me...I feel so small.

Decided to make a profile picture using my new fursona Aden, so I did this quickly in Sketcher. The snow in the background is because Vitamin C's "Graduation" started playing in my shuffle and I got a bit homesick. No snow in Arizona, sadly.

(And yes, I know it's 2009 now but it was almost 3am when I drew this; please humor me. ^^)

All things considered, I had a pretty happy 19th birthday. My family, my friends, classmates and even some relative strangers all made it a day worth remembering. Plus of course you guys. :)

And for once, I'm feeling kind of optimistic about where the future is going. As an intellectual, as a student, as a citizen of my country and as the protagonist of my own life's story, I can see the light on the horizon. It's there. Now all we have to do is go forth and seek the dawn.

Well, I am officially 19 years old (wow!) and I felt the time was right for some changes.

This is Aden, and she is going to be my new primary fursona. She is a she, though supposed to be a tomboy, and I think represents me far more than my other fursona does. I'm going to keep that cub around, under the name of Kor, and I'm sure I'll still draw him now and then.

Aden is more of an adolescent than Kor, and while she lacks the leg feathering she gets ear tufts (and rims) as well as a darker hair color. Instead of stockings she has socks, and keeps the toes; the secondary color on Kor's back has been reduced to a stripe for Aden. She also has green eyes.

No collar, no markings, no spots. But yes, Aden's keeping a bird feather. :)

Seems my life is all about change these days. My fursona, if you notice, is a bit different in this picture. I don't think I will keep the look, but that epitomizes the same sort of search for identity I'm going through.

Drawn in oil pastel -- I figure this is a good a time as any to explore my roots and try to not rely on my digital skillset alone. The biggest challenge is getting it to the computer (of course I like the hard copy of this SO much more), but digital camera seems to work the best. Yup.

Some time ago, I worked on a pic for the site contest. I poured my heart into it. I was so proud. I thought it deserved the top ten.

It didn't happen and I died a little inside. I raged at the winners, at those who won with art made months ago, or those who sidled up to buddies. After, I looked at my own pic and wondered, was I fooling myself? Was this just a load of s*** that only I could ever be proud of? If it were real media, I would've destroyed it.

Instead, I made this picture. I promised myself that if I ever uploaded this, it would be when I had made the top 10, to remember my anguish.

I made my winning entry with integrity. I learned and changed. I hope others who feel or felt this pain can learn from my story.

:D Inspired by a picture Astrocat (one of my fans!) uploaded today of her char Orchid in an awesome realistic style. I've always thought about doing my fursona semi-realistically, so I spent today working on this. It's nowhere near the quality of Astrocat's work, of course, but I really like how it turned out! Pose was reffed, but otherwise that's just my artwork. :)

I just wanted to compile the different forms of my fursona that I've done so far. My big-cat form, my African parrot form, my riverine rabbit form, and my black-backed jackal form. Yes, I was lazy and stole them out of the three big collabs and one of my earlier pics. :)

Why, it's my fursona! As a lovely African parrot! You know, I really like this form. I may draw my fursona this way again. Also tried a different style in this pic--basically layered color over the sketch instead of bothering with outlines. Interesting.
