HELLO EVERYONE! It certainly has been awhile hasn't it?

No, I haven't abandoned TLKFAA. No I haven't abandoned SDP.

However, atm I can't draw anything complete because I have no Photoshop. A couple months ago my laptop got a virus and had to be wiped clean. I did save all of my comic stuff, though, but unfortunately my Phooshop disc is still MIA.

Apologies. Hopefully, eventually, I can get back to actually doing real art. Until then here's a quick sketchy thing of Manani, Kafil, and Hidaya.

Thanks again to Corrie for letting me have this guy!

So here's a quick picture of Kafil because I wanted to do a better one of him. Who appears to be standing at the tip of Pride Rock as the sun rises... Wonder what that could mean?

Maybe it doesn't mean anything. Who knows.

Based off that one scene with Simba a bit. I think. Or at least how I remember some of it. Its been awhile since I last watched TLK. xD

I really need to get back to work on the SDP pages.

Cub character I'm hoping to adopt off the TT. If I get him I wanna name him Kafil which is a swahili name meaning Protector/Responsible. I'd like to add him to the SDP family. xD He'd be one of the major characters waaaaaay down the line. Can't say much more than that.

Conceptual doodles of a couple TLK fancharacters of mine that exist only in the SDP universe...

I'm not sure if I'm totally happy with Manyoya's design, but at the same time I like it. Love how Hidaya came out though...

I can't tell you anything about them, but I will say that Hidaya takes after her mother and Manyoya after his father. They aren't siblings either.

I'm not sure if they'll really ever be seen in the comic, Hidaya particularly. I know Manyoya will if I can make it that far. Hidaya's still up in the air though. Can't really explain that either.

Might try drawing them TLK-style just for fun.

For the current contest. My inspiration being the painting of Washington crossing the Delaware and all that's involved in that part of American History. As well as that scene where the outlanders forde the river to attack; so I tried to blend both images into this picture. :P

While Zira was a bit messed up her goal was still pretty similar. Freedom from what she viewed as an oppressive regime.... (and revenge, but you get the picture.)

Wonder if Simba taxed them for hunting rights? Was there a Serengheti Antelope Party? Huh...

It was gonna be Simba like from that scene at the end of the movie, but then I decided I didn't want to draw borring old Simba, so I did Mohatu instead. Anyway, I was gonna do a full BG and crap, but I think that anything more would take away from the impact of Mohatu there, so I just left it like this. I like it the way it is, myself.

He had their guilt for their “wrongful” acts toward him. He had the dedication of the King's Daughter, and the King's forgiveness. All of his obstacles were falling away, one by one.

All that stood between him and the goal were Simba and Nala. If Nala happened to run afoul of a herd of water buffalo while out hunting, and Simba's heart broke from all his life's tragedy thereafter... Well, that certainly wasn't Kovu's fault.

They'd taken care of Nuka and Zira for him. Like he'd let Mummy Dearest control him. Puh. His plot might not have been as flashy as Zira's crazy schemes, but Kovu rather thought Scar would be proud of the insidious nature of it.

Zira had, perhaps, trained him a little to well. Pity she'd never know that now.

I've been sort of playing with the idea of a TLK fancomic based on my SDP idea, and this was a sort of "cover design" concept for it.

I liked it, so here's some color slapped on it. Boring colored sketch is boring.

Not really sure if I'll make that comic or not, meh.

Style of this is vaguely inspired by *akreon's (on DeviantArt) cover art for her Off-White comic, I guess.

Then one day she knew that she was free, and she went to the gorge and laid amongst the greenest place there and waited. He came to her again, and when he asked “Come walk with me?” She said:

“I'm ready.”

His pride would not allow him to plead. Even as he could see the gleaming presence of his once (and forever) great brother pleading with him. That Mufasa would have care and forgiveness for him even now. "We know thine guilt." Scar stared impassively at the Great Kings, and waited for his Punishment. “Ye coveted the title, the crown, and hence we name ye King! King of Fools, King of the Withered Tree, King of the Dry Riverbed! Wallow in the pity of thine own avarice!”

As the grass parted for each rise and fall of his paws Mufasa glanced back, and laughed softly at the determined focused expression on Simba's face. With each bounding leap he took he felt the fear, the anger, the worry melt away into nothingness: The rest of the world could wait, no, the entirety of the sacred circle of life could wait...

He would enjoy this moment with his son, his heir, his little prince. He would enjoy their time spent romping like cubs beneath the gaze of the Great Kings, and he would it cherish until the end of his days.

Kiara was like everything that was good: Bright, alive, and cheerful; and sometimes it hurt Kovu to even look at her.

He knew there was still a darkness in him, and he figured it would always be there. It was that small part of him that made him know he was unworthy of being near her, this princess of all that was good.

He often wondered if she'd use her brightness to burn away the darkness in him, but he also knew if he asked her to that she'd only laugh and tell him that the only thing dark about him was his pelt.

After Scar had made the hyena's "apologize" to him, Simba found Banzai and Ed could be a lot of fun.

"Banzai got the skull." Simba said.

"Check" the hyena affirmed.

"I got the mouse," Simba continued, "and Ed got the fur." The other two looked to Ed, who nodded rapidly, tongue flapping. Then Simba gazed slyly to Banzai, "This is what we'll do..."

A picture in my "Dark Prince" Lion King AU that was inspired by/for the current contest. Not to sure what they're up to, but I'm sure either Scar or Shenzi is the intended target.

"They hate me." They had all, even Nala, turned from him in disgust when he continued to defend Scar even as the pridelands began to wither.

"My poor prince..."

"I hate them to!" Simba hissed, even as he sobbed in anquish. "I hate them all!"

"I know, and remember, Simba, you are the one with the power here... Never them."

This premise for an "alternate universe" scenario as been bouncing around in my head for well over a year, and I decided to draw it. In this world, instead of killing Simba, Scar keeps him around after Mufasa's death, and continues to mold and manipulate him. Simba see's Scar as a sort of replacement father/menter/saviour and trusts him implicatly. I may draw other images related to it, later.

"I'm going to find help."

Mheetu looked stunned for a moment before with a snarl he whirled, "You don't have to! I'll take Scar down myself, don't you trust me?!"

Nala could only stare after her brother as he stalked off, but her soft response still reached him, "Of course, I trust you little brother... Just be careful." She knew he could do as he set out to do, because the adversity Scar had bred had created a powerful adversary under his nose.

Several years later that moment would stand strong in Nala's mind as she lay with Mheetu's queen, and watched her brother play with his cubs. Her heart still ached when she thought of Simba, and she hoped that when he and Mufasa looked down on them from the stars that they were proud.
