Kovu for Canon Month! This is probably gonna be the only submission you'll see out of me, since this was SUPPOSED to be just a quick-but-nice headshot, but ended up taking over 20 hours. Not good for me. Took even longer because my trial for SAI is done and over with, and it didn't want to let me copy-paste the shaded picture. I nearly exploded. Three hours of shading was NOT leaving me. Nonono.

Anyway. It'sa Kovu headshot with him grinnin'. Wanted to draw a sexy grinny Kovu with a bit of smugness, but it didn't work out that way. I still like it though, so hey. Enjooy.

Ya know. >>; I planned to put a background on this. The least I could do after making HappyLion wait... eight months for it. >>;;;;; But PhotoShop is mean, and it turned out icky. It turned the Outlands into throw-up, simply put. So that utterly phailed. But I put lots of effort into the shading on this one, and I think it looks AWESOME. (Plus, Saigon's nice words from earlier helped put me back in the TLK spirit. <3)

So, I DO intend to put a background on this later, when I get better at them. Until then, I can only give you this, Happy~ DD: Cawson, Vitani, and Kovu playing as cubs.

Also. Does anyone ELSE think Vitani has weird eyes that make her impossible to draw right unless you're some sort of super-god? >>;;;;

Uuuugh. I'm alive. Promise. I just haven't has must inspiriation to draw TLK stuff lately, and when I DID draw it, it didn't make it too far. And then I just let them all go. Anyway. I have about three of more pictures to finish, and I should have them uploaded this month sometime. So, because I just remembered this baby and totally feel more than horrible for not uploading it when I finished the lines over two months ago, I'll upload it now as it is -- lamely scanned. This is HappyLion's request of her cub playing with Kovu and Vitani. Made 'em racin'. Vitani wins~

I like the way they came our, more or less. I'm really happy with it, considering how my liony luck was at the time. Loooads of screen references used. More will be used, too

Noble Blood

I said two minutes and I meant it. <3

Nadra, as read in his profile, is Dakarai's rival from cubhood. He likes Acha and wants to be king, but when Dakarai - the outsider he considers unworthy of the pride or Acha's love - is chosen instead, he snaps and eventually manages to kill Dakarai in a fake "Fire!" scam. No one ever finds out except Hebu, and she's exiled so she can't tell. He has one son with Acha named Rithi, who becomes king despite having an older half-brother (Dakarai and Acha were going to have a cub before he was killed) named Bwana.

Nadra as an adult and cub. He was originally adopted from TUS. <33 Mane was tweaked accidentally because I drew the ear before I drew the mane part that goes in front of it. Whoops. D:

Noble Blood

Iv'e had this figured out for a while now, and I'm not making any more progress with getting the (at least) two characters I need to finish the pride, going by the Pridelands Standard. Can't get a good idea for 'em y'know? So this is a chart of their colors and where those colors go. It might be a bit easier if you have physical stuff to apply TO those blocks o' color, so I'm starting references for them all. Nadra's will be uploaded in about two minutes. Hah. <33

"Vingar? I had a nigh-"

Shika, now a strong young teenager, came to a confused stop as he saw his idol and adoptive sibling asleep, curled up loosely in what seemed to be a nightmare of his own.

The copper-toned lion shyly placed a paw on the darker male's shoulder, the reminder of how moody Vingar could be still painfully obvious on his nose.

The older male stirred, but he didn't wake.

Shika lay next to him, resting his head and a paw on his back. "I'll keep your nightmares away," he mumbled, before falling asleep himself.

New line style~! D'you like this one better or no? Hee~ Shika's adorable when he's not being hyper. x33

Oh. And I sort of messed up on Shika, so he looks funny. :/ But still, what'choo think?

I think I had a fall-back, here. This looks more like my earlier pictures than it does my new stuff, and I DON'T KNOW WHY. -hairtug- I think I might be artblocky. That's my only real idea for this. .__.; 'Cause it took forever to get a decent sketch started for him and took even longer to finish it. Really, it's not the best, and I'm far from happy with it, but it works for now, I suppose..

This is the little Simba-look-a-like Latraviata has on the Trading Tree. His design is quite possibly gonna go under some more coloring experiments, because I'm not sure I like this. :/ And I made his tail too short. Ears are too long too..

He'll be named Shian if I get him. .__.; I really wanna fix this up. SOOO many things wrooong!

Kovu~! Again. >>; (Really, I haveta start drawing someone else. This is borderlining obsession. xD)

I rather like this one. Drew it on a field trip a few weeks ago with my art class instead of doing the sketches she told us to (-cackle-) and I finished it the following day. Or something. >>; Forgot to finish coloring it after I scanned it until I found the original sketch again by the PS2. O: Finished coloring it today, started the day I scanned it, and uploaded it a few hours later 'cause I forgot. >>; Again.

Aaad does anyone else think my style's warping on me? :/ It's getting... cuter, and not as long-legged/gangly. I think it looks like Saigon's, almost, and I wanna cry, 'cause that's not a good thing. T~T Opinions? .___.;

Ow. Ow-ow-ow ow-ow. Ow. Ow. Ow.

I kept getting sidetracked -- is why this wasn't done until a few months after I said it would be. xDD;; But it's done now! Not quite what I wanted, but close enough. After two days of making this background, I ain't picky about what I got. >>;

Two things. One. That background will make eyes bleed. Wear protective eyewear. Two. I thank Ukungu with unhealthy worship for the help given in this. xDD; She pointed out that 'Tani looked funny without that one back leg showing and gave me help with clouds earlier on in the year. LUV YEW, UKUNGUUU. <33

Vitani proves that she's still better than her little brother, even though he may be bigger, more muscular, and is higher up in the pride. 'Tani wins!

Renana's Liox! Finally finished it, waaay behind schedule. x.x; Female kit with the colors you requested. O: I think I bungled the shorter fur bit, though. Feel free to change what doesn't work for you, but try to keep it like the species so people don't get it confused, 'kay? O: I really hope you like her, though!

Colombo~! Drawing this little kitty got me out of my art slump. (Hence why all the pictures I promised during my leave are either not done or not started. :/) But I think I'm totally out of it, and this is whatcha get for starters.

I totally rushed the shading, but I still like how it looks in the long run. First time positioning those arms like that, too. -razz- ...And his nose is crooked. Ears might be too big, too... >>;;

Anyhoodle. Adopted Bobo from Choii a while back and I FINALLY got to draw the cutie. Next pictures: Renana's Liox and something for mah Ade! <3

Total time: 9 hours, 33 minutes

No clue WHY it took so long to draw Kovu, but it did. I still have to add in Vitani and a background yet. -sigh- I'll be old by the time I finish this thing.

Anyway. It's supposed to be adult Kovu pinned by adult Vitani, a rip-off of the Nala-pins-Simba sequence in the first movie combined with ideas brought up by Vitani's "Wanna fight?" from the second.

I can easily picture something like that happening, and when I get Vitani drawn in, I'll upload that too so it makes more sense. Yes, she'll be pinning him down. And does it look like Kovu? Really? :/ I used a lot of reference to get it to look like him. Comments appreciated. x.x;;

Maovu, Shemi's son and the souless killer. Literally. His mother brainwashed him so perfectly as he grew up that he barely knows anything beside the basics and killing. Not a very nice prospect, I know. Anyway. YES, he's supposed to look something like Kovu, because his mother has a hairtuft like that and he was planned to look much like her.

Original design created for me by Deidara-San. O: I couldn't get his eyespots in right, but I'll try and reupload this when I get them in right. I tweaked his fur colors a bit, too, with permission.

So! Maovu without his eyespots. This should be fixed by tomorrow. >>;

The finished picture of Rixor, a friend's Kingdom Hearts original in his Pride Land form. The lineart I posted on here yesterday was this before I added the hair and color. Read the lineart's image description for more detail.

You'll see this image one more time, and that's when I settle on a wild dog design I like for my own. Sorry for the repetition! I have a whole hoard of new ideas for picture (and maybe an animation or two) so sit tight and I'll get to them as soon as I can.

Sketches

WIP of an image I was drawing for a friend. She wanted her Kingdom Hearts character TLKified so she asked me to draw him. Wild dog fit his personality, so she asked if I could draw it. Took about three days to get here, but I like it. I stopped here so I could make it lineart for those who want a wild dog character. Feel free to use the lineart for everything but icons, but leave my copyright so others can find this, 'kay? 'Cause stealing is BAD. :/

I know the ears aren't quite right. Realized that they were round after I had most of this drawn and just didn't want to change them at that point. (I'll be designing my own character with this, plus uploading the final copy of the original planned image, so be prepared to see this again.)

Rogoa, the pretty-pretty clouded leopard I was given by Cent a few days ago. I had serious fun drawing this. I mean, I'd been sick aaaall day and woke up feeling better at two in the morning. xD Started a drawing session with a friend and finished it around... almost seven in the morning. x.X Then added the partially hidden back leg about three hours later because it's weird to have a cat with three legs. I'm almost positive there's a reddish pattern on the black fur, but I couldn't get it right. I'll try to add it next time, though. But anyway. Here's Rogoa, first-time-drawn. The adoptable Ice_lion has on the trading tree. I would have had this uploaded sooner, but there was a canvas-sizing error on the first picture I tried to draw that totally decimated it and made me draw another one. RAWR. Anyway. If I DO get him, he'll be Vengar's ally and slightly-annoying follower. Always perky and goofy. Drives Vengar crazy. xDD

Haat's reference sheet. I started doodling him up a few days ago and it turned into a big style experiment. Found a way I like to draw paws, thank to a tutorial and other references, got a good pose going on, fixed up some anatomy issues I was having, and generally re-did everything on this picture, including his design. I rather like this new one. And NO, he is not Dotty/Spotty-related. Look him up in my characters section if you're curious. Though, I may redo that too...

I'm not back yet, but I figured I'd upload this before I forgot it. Expect a month's delay from me, maybe less. Electricity problems in the house.

Omigosh, it's canon! I haven't drawn canon stuff in a looong time. This entire sketch and color job look about five minutes, total, helped along by the fact that I was listening to Be Prepared six times in a row beforehand and all throughout.

A good friend of mine shaded it for me, just because she wanted to, and I have never felt so unworthy. Ever. xD

I need your help. .__. Badly. This is killing my mind, and I need opinions~ This birdie here is Voël, and he needs some classification help. See, he was originally supposed to be a hornbill, but I realized that since he's the "guardian" of a gazelle, he needed to be a bit faster than that. Cross this facty with my new favorite birdie species, the secretary bird, and we have competition. I don't know whether he should be a hornbill like I first planned or a secretary bird so he fits better with logic. Opinions are much appreciated. x.x Once I get the other design up, cast your vote! Please? .__.

P.S: This picture is from eight months ago. Or more. I kept pushing it aside. Finally got it colored. Look for the secretary bird one soon.

New character!

I actually created him backwards, when you think about it. Sort of. I got the color scheme on accident (thank you, funny color effect that happens when you switch layer types!) and then I created his personality. The last thing I created was how he actually looked. Sorta sad. But it worked out nice!

My seeeeeeriously overdue part of a trade with spotted matriarch. o.o It's been a good number of months since this thing first got started. >>;;; Whoopsie~ Anyway, this is her character Noodle. :3 She just seemed like such an adorable, cutesy character I had to put her in that pose. Granted it was a new pose, but I had fun doing it. Though I think I'm gonna stick to pencil-and-paper lines and computer coloring. ...I'm not making a schedule anymore. :/ Everytime I try, I do something that I didn't plan. Example: promised to finish off really small trade list. Drew a picture of Chale instead. Need to finish his eye and ink it, then I can get to the fun part. Tried to finish said picture. Ended up drawing and finishing character sheet for Bichi. ....Never again will I make plans to draw something. xDD I'll get to it when I get to it. -cough-

Nadra, the rival to Dakarai and second mate to Acha in my story "Noble Blood." I adopted him from TheUnknownSoul, and I had a horrible time getting his proportions right and things or the sort. But I'm rather happy with how the final picture came out. What'choo thinks? -o.o-

Now for me to ramble pointlessly. Well, I wanna make a shout-out that I AM working on drawing the characters I adopted from people (Chale, Nyuni, Acha, Narben, etc...) but I got all kinds of requests at school and on forums I gotta do first. And speaking of, Spotted Matriarch, I AM working on ours, too. ^^ I kept forgetting about it, but it WILL get done! -heroic pose-

'Nother picture of Shemi, 'cause I haven't drawn her in a longlong time. I dont like the result too much. :/ I couldn't get the eyes to look right, and they looked fine before I added the hair. x.x Then everything went bad. The pose looks odd too. She's supposed to be walking past you to your right and that hump's supposed to be her back-end, but it looks... wrong. x.x -nitpicky-
I think I murdered it. I'll probably redo it later, but I got yelled at for not liking it, so here 'tis.

The twin lions Mizan has on the Trading Tree, Rueben and Rainie. I made a list of what made them different so I could make the picture as correct as possible. Took a lot of work, lemme tell you. Rueben is on the left, Rainie is on the right. I really hope I'm worthy enough to get them. I already have a story in mind. o.o Several, actually... xD It's all up to Mizan, though.

Variations

The 'Variations' folder now includes characters from other themes, like a TLK3 or something like that. This is Ade, the prince of the Outlands after Zira's demise. His mother, Awiti, is the third lion in Scar's triad and is the last defense after Zira's death. He's a rather cowardly kitty, but he acts tough and hates Kovu, his past idol, for dropping them all back in the dirt. I got tired of hassling over "perfect circles," so now my color spots will be pawprints, because I'm lazy and like the fact that they'll all be the same size.

Anyhoodle. This is Tarabe, the male character I adopted from Gaara the Sand Demon. He was going to be named something else, but she also had a character with that name and it was easier to change it. This name fits better anyway. He's listed in my characters section if you want to learn more about him.

Another Kovu profile-shot. This is the first one I mentioned previously; the one I had in my notebook forever and ever due to a dead scanner. I colored it the best I could and couldn't resist making the mane look a bit more realiztic since the mane-shading in TLK is impossible for me to recreate. This was done with at least three reference-screenshots and the color was eyedropped. All in all, it looks fairly decent, don't you think? (I think I'm going to stick to my style of shading for a while, though...)

This is one of the pictures on that huge-o list I have up. My main focus now is to finish the other two or three I have waiting to be colored (especially the color sheets) and my trade with spotted matriarch.

Kovu! I have another picture similar to this in my school notebook, done with reference and created with more time than this one. This one was created in an oC session between myself and a good friend. She drew another character, I drew Kovu. I added the green background out of boredom and wanted to recreate a TLK bedset I had, hence the black border-thinger. So! I think his mane and the shading turned out all right, and the colors for his face were eyedropped. (This was done with no reference besides colors.) Let me know what you think, mmkay? .__.

An adoptable from Lovely Wolves I was interested in having. I know that she said that this lioness might not be given up, but she was too pretty not to at least draw. o.o I'm in love with the design and I think I could come up with a really good story for her. But I'll leave the decision up to Lovely Wolves.

Another character I wish to adopt, this time from Gaara the Sand Demon. I absolutely LUV his colors and the detail on him. (Because of said details, this picture took me about 2-3 hours. xDD) But I had fun with it. And I even drew it on PAINT 'cause I wanted to. Shading and all. To those artists who use Paint for their pictures, I salute you!

Anyhoodle. If I do get this character, I'm probably gonna name him Kiraka. (Roughly means "spot" in Swahili. :3)

A sleeping cubby-Simba. I know his colors are wrong, as they all came from memory. And it was finished in a few minutes -- a total record for me. And it looks decent, methinks. That pose was utter torture to work with... So. Shading and highlights are there (squint!) and the lineart is sort of heavy, but it works out. I'll probably scribble a background for this sometime. Comment?

I have a lot of pictures to work up. The fan pictures I promised for Christmas (and still haven't done), the ones I need to ink and color in my notebooks from the printer desctruction, trade pictures... I'm gonna be busy for a while. Yuck.

My part of a trade with nala_96. These two are the twins, Lilani and Shalani. Lilani is the darked-colored one with the mark on her eye facing you, and Shalani is the lighter colored one leaping into the air. This entire picture was done in PhotoShop, and I'm sort of half-half about the result. I'm happy with the grass, tree, and sky gradient, but the lineart of the picture is sort of blech. That, and the way I blindly set up the grass layering is bad too... so are the clouds... -shudder- I wanna hear your opinions of it, though. I think I'm being too harsh. I hope you like it, Nala~

For Gaara the Sand Demon~ It's her characters Kankuro (the big one) and Ukavu (the little one). Kankuro is showing his son their lands and giving him the princely speech that so many other kings have been known to do. Took me six hours... There are no clouds, since I can't do them for diddly, but I tried to get some effect with the sky. Please comment on this -- I want to know what to improve and what you think.

By the wayside, does anyone know a decent cloud tutorial? I reaaaaaally need help with those..

The character sheet for Kela. I didn't have time to put the details on the image itself, so I'll just name the key point here: The markings on her face and back are symmetrical on both sides. The one on her back makes a kind of wavy, upside-down V-shape. I'll edit the image later and include a diagram, most likely.

I haven't drawn him since... I drew the picture to get him from Racha. o.x I've tried endless times, but either I didn't like the picture, I forgot to finish it or I didn't trust myself to finish it without proper reference. I'm so picky. x3
But he's finished now! ...and he's making fun of my pickiness. But he has right. So! A picture of Nyuni to apologize to him and Racha about not drawing the poor boy in forever.

"Nessun Dorma". Aww, Shemi can't sleep. I wonder if something's bothering her? Maybe something happened. Who knows?

First time drawing... almost all of this (pose, backgrounds, etc.) and the detail killed me. Some things might be off. Comments and criticism are heavily appreciated. I can't get better if I don't know what to fix! :3

Nchi's (means "earth") character sheet! I'm so happy I finally got a picture of the little guy drawn. It was always lineart until now. So! Hopefully, it's of some help to anyone (besides me).

...Craptastic shading on this one. And I forgot to color his front toes. Darnit. His two front paws have toes the same color as his belly. His back paws are all brown. -kicks self- Such a stupid-stupid error..

My first actual lineart. It's supposed to be a Simba-esque type lineart, since one of my characters was designed with one of KassyNaVerdis' Simba lineart. I'll probably make this into an icon, too.

Anyway! This is either Simba (or Nchi, if you're thinking in my characters). Just have fun with it and show me when you're done if you want to color it, 'kay? Oh, and leave my copyright be. You can move it around on the picture to another spot, but please don't remove it.

Whoa--background! It's definately not the best, but this picture was about a 4 day job. I changed so much stuff on it it's hardly even funny. I'm working on the colored version as I'm typing this up, so expect it soon!

It's Vitani in the Outlands with a little seedling. The very same type of plant that Simba showed to Kovu. It can be easier seen in the finished version.

This little guy's name Wym (pronounced like "whim"). He's a pretty gothic lion, and no one can or should see his eyes. Again, this is an adoptable who I already have a person in mind for. Sorry! ):

If you do want an adoptable from me, just ask. I'll be happy to draw you one as long as you specify everything you want, like gender and name. If you don't want anything in particular, just something random, I'll go rampant with it. Just a warning.

This li'l guy's named Nava. He was inspired by the coloring of one of the wolves in a pack fromt he movie 'Balto II: Wolf Quest" and was named for the leader of that pack. I should have uploaded this picture a looong time ago, but I forgot, same with many others. o.o'

Anyway. Comment the picture if you'd like to have him. Oh, the gray fur on him is supposed to be a dappled-white type of deal. I couldn't figure out how to do that on openCanvas.

Cross-Overs

Yay for crossovers! This time, it's the Galian Beast from FF7! (For those of you who love Vincent, you already know who this guy is. ^.~) And for those who don't, Galian Beast is Vincent's first limit break. It was already a beasty, so I made it a lion.

Anyway. This is just the lineart. Feel free to color it all you want, how you want, just send the finished product to my art trades so I can see it.

This picture is the practice for an OpenCanvas experiment.

This is Umbele ("future"). As his name implies, he's psychic, troubled by distubing visions and never believed when he explains them, which normally comes back at him in a bad way. He'll often get blamed for warning them because "it was witchcraft and a threat on their lives".

I already have someone in mind for him, so you'll find out here if she claims him like I'm hoping.

Oh yes! ^.~ My first time drawing a roaring pose (two of 'em, in fact) and I love how it came out. There's no real scenery yet, but this picture's going to be Sarabi and Mufasa's ghost roaring in return to Simba's roar as he takes his place as king.

"Like Father, Like Daughter" My friend and I decided to try our hand at something new in a type of TLK-contest thingy, so I said that I'd draw Scar and cub-Vitani due toa roleplay we were doing and she took my suggestion to draw Simba. Here's my part of it: first-try drawing Scar and little Vitani.

I am SO proud of myself, but a bit disappointed in Vitani. She looks a little... odd. Oh well. Good enough for now.

My new brother-and-sister story I hope to actually write out.

"She looked on as Sabi stepped in front of her, plastering a happy grin on his face. 'Dad, don't yell at Mamba for something I did! It's not her fault.' She gulped and ducked sheepishly behind Sabi's legs. It wasn't her fault that one of Sabi's friends scratched up the antelope skull. Why did he always take it out on her?! Just because she was adopted didn't mean she was slime!"

My new (nameless) meerkat character. I decided to actually upload the pictures I've been drawing since I've been gone for a while. She's pretty withdrawn, but has a heart of gold. As told by the bandana and headband, she used to be owned by one of the rangers that protected one of the wildlife protection zones in the serengeti.

I messed up that hand holding the stick... ew. X_X;
