For AlbinoRaven666's contest.

Scar has never accepted Zawadi as his son. The young lion was expected to leave the pride as soon as he reached adolescence - if he lived that long.

Upon the birth of Kovu, whom Scar selected as his heir, it became clear that any other male would be eliminated - so to guarantee Kovu's succession. Although there wasn't much left to succeed.

Under the reign of king Scar pridelands have gone barren. It was a matter of time before the pride would die starving.

For those reasons Raven decided to follow her son in the exile. Two lions had greater chances of surviving than one. And if they were to die, at least they'd die together.

"My Lord, I'll raise her to be strong and cunning! You will be proud of her, I promise!"

Kovu isn't very happy about his firstborn cub. It's only a female and he needs a son to be king after him.

I believe Kovu could've mated some outsiders before he met Kiara. He was the handsome chosen one after all ^_^.

Re-designing and Re-naming another character of mine. This lady was previously named Rishi and had more pridelander looks. Now I've changed her name to Aula, which means "important" in swahili, and gave her more outlander colors. Might change the design later.

Aula is a member of Zira's pride, born about the same time as Vitani and Kovu. She was Kovu's mate before he met Kiara (I do believe Kovu could have mated lionesses in the outlands, being the chosen one and all)

What is Simba mated not only Nala, but Kula and Tama too?

The two brown teens are Simba and Kula's cubs: Afua and Aisha. The yellow guy on the very right is Tanabi, Simba's son by Tama. The other three (Kopa, Kiara and Chaka) are Nala's cubs.

KIARA: Chaka, let's play!
CHAKA: Kiara, no! I don't want to!
TANABI: Buahah! Chaka is da coward!
KOPA: Can't you kids just play nice?
AFUA: Look, Aisha! The show is 'bout to start!
AISHA: Indeed it is.

Kovu's point of view is not a view you could envy him (I guess it's rather obvious which scene it is)

EDIT: Improved the shading and colored the lineart (seriously, I couldn't stand the way I shaded Simba's paws before)

THEMBA: My friend would like to say, that your are so extremely beautiful, that he just can't find right words to describe it!

LOL I somehow picture Ahadi as a firm ruler and strict father, but totally shy towards girls ^_^. Fortunately his friend Themba (the future father of Sarabi) is willing to lend him a paw.

If Mheetu was in the movie, I'm sure Scar wouldn't miss the opportunity to use him to make Nala his queen.
