Waiting For The Sun
i wanted to do a new year's comic strip, but then i got snowed in at work for three days. by the time the mess was melted and i was caught up with everything else, new year's day was done and gone. but looking at this sketcher pic, i decided i liked it enough to upload it. maybe i can finish the entire thing in time for next year...

ok, teh story: nala and simba are on their way to join mufasa and the lionesses as they wait for the sun to rise on the first day of the year. this would be on the day the brightest star (sirius) rises above the horizon.

This is a sketcher pic that i finished in photoshop when I ran out of time. I know its really sketchy and raw, but I like how it came out overall. It was inspired by a piece of Disney TLK concept art and the TLK on Broadway song, "They Live in You".

A Sketcher Doodle: Scene on Pride Rock

this last month has been emotionally exhausting. i am just about burned out on the holiday and training for my new job at a 24-hour urgency care unit (where i get to be the "on-call" person). i need to recoup and reorganize things. i am still doing sketches for "shadows", but my real life obligations need to come first. so until i figure out what kind of schedule i can expect to face, my life will be a battlefield. so, please bear with me. everything will settle into a routine...eventually =)

What if...

Until young Simba's birth, Taka had been first in line to succeed his brother Mufasa. Now that the Lion King had a proper heir, Taka had became a threat to his tyrannical rule. So the scarred lion was not surprised that his sibling had just tried to kill him. In fact, he had been expecting it. But for Mufasa to put his own cub, Taka's beloved young nephew, in danger just to lure him into the trap...it was beyond belief! If they survived the next few minutes, Taka swore he would take the cub away & raise him to someday take his cruel father's place -- one way or another...

The Lion Queen.

(Dante did a picture of the three queens of the pridelands... so i was inspired & worked on this Nala picture between stuffing turkey and baking apple pies. this picture was started in sketcher and finished in photoshop. Hope everyone had a happy givethanksforturkeyday. =) )

Fast Sketcher Simba

i wondered what kind of pic i could do before sketcher reset in like 15 minutes or so, so i did a fast sketch of simba and then saved it. then there was some time left so i colored it too. i just put the pics together in photoshop and added a background.

i dunno what it is, but there's something about this sketch that i really like, even as messy as it is! =)

3rd Try on Sketcher. Tablet is kinda sorta working. I got kicked, and had touble getting back on due to the humongous popularity of the room. When I got back in, some angelic person had cleaned up all my line art!!! Now Simba looks really beyootiiful. If anyone knows who redid my line art, please let me know and I will give him/her full credit and a cookie!

EDIT: HOLY CRAP! Timali did the line art!! She gets an entire box of cookies!!! (Bounces around insanely...)
