Sketcher Art: OMG!!! it's NOT a lion!
i doodled this in sketcher with a mouse. (my tablet is crap...) her tail's too long to be a lynx or caracal. I think she might be Ratha.

This is from "Clan Ground" by Clare Bell. Thakur is being groomed by Aree (a cute little lemur-like critter that he decided not to eat), and he really, really likes it... :)

Thistle-Chaser finds the beach...

From Clare Bell's "Ratha & Thistle-Chaser". Dumb title. Great book! for those who have not read the series, ratha's abandoned daughter thistle-chaser is lame and walks on three paws, with her injured leg tucked up against her chest...she was on the verge of starvation when she came upon the beach and became a successful scavenger.
(thank you to ratha for your cool sketch that helped me pin down thistle's complex design...)

Ratha crept closer to the fire. She gathered a bundle of twigs & moved it nearby so that she need not leave her creature's warmth to search for the food it needed. The fire's sound became friendlier to her ears and she thought, sleepily, that her creature was purring...

"Speak Kovu"
While Zira hurled impotent curses at them, the lionesses sat gazing solemnly up at Kovu as though expecting something. Vitani gave a weak smile as she looked at her twin. "Speak, Kovu. He was your brother too."

After a knock-down, drag-out fight, Simba & Zira locate their missing cubs, fast asleep in the elephants' graveyard. From Agent-99s fanfic, "Vitani's Dare". Such a cool story!

Minshasa & Simba from Morris & Burkitt's "Shadow of the Makei"
(A soft lioness voice called to him. "Take heart, my son." ...He looked up and saw nearby a cloud white lioness on the sand. "Come to me. You are in need. I can help you."..."I'm seeing things again! You're not real!"..."If I'm not real, how do I do this?" She let out a puff of breath and in moments a cool breeze swept over Simba.)
