For the trading tree. 5 1/2 year old Greater Kudu named Ayson. A sensible and strong leader, he fears little, except packs of hunting dogs. His left (our right) horn is broken at the second twist. He has 6 white side stripes. His front leg markings are cream as is his eye marking. The other facial markings are white.

I can't draw ungulates xD

This has been finished for ages... just forgot about it... I think I like it the best out of the four, I think. I also used a photo ref again.

A is for alligator... is close enough to crocodile right? =P I got sucked into the animal alphabet thing. It's fun drawing in a different style, and colouring without lines (I just add a few lines for details afterward), plus it gives me a chance to draw animals I wouldn't normally draw =)

Had a sketch just lion around (haha... I'm an idiot), that I felt like colouring. This is how it turned out. The 'L is for Lion' was somewhat of an afterthought. But I like it.

On another note, commissions are closed. I still have a couple to finish up and I start Uni next week =S I miss this place.

Malachite Kingfisher =) Part of the set of 4 with the elephant. Had fun painting this one, it was a challenge.. but I think I'm improving at least. Next one is coming very soon!

A lioness I drew at work yesterday while sitting on boom gate... writing down license plates of cars that drive in and checking their receipts and their cars when they drive out. Sometimes there's not much to do, so I was drawing. The head of this lovely lioness was reffed from a tiny picture on my mobile phone. =)

Elephant. I wanted to try and do some painting, so this is one of four paintings of a series I'm doing of African animals. The painting canvas itself is only roughly 2 by 3 inches... so the actual image on screen is slightly larger than the actual painting.
Painted with Gauche, some amount of hours. Photo ref.

A short while ago I bought some sculpturing clay stuff... and some plasticine to mess around with for practice =D. I finally opened the plasticine today and this is the result. I like how it turned out, especially for my first go at making something like this.

Man I had fun drawing this! Heard their new song for the first yesterday and this just demanded to be drawn. The devil is tempting him to give his life up to be with his love who died.
Love this song, and this pic. Took me about 7 hours all up, far longer than I expected.

Spotty because I saved it as a gif because I'm cool like that =P First time I've used that curvey line tool for a pic in paint too.

Fair warning, the thumbnail looks pretty, the actual size does not...

...So last and certainly least... there was the Colubus monkey that I attempted. I had big aspirations for it but as I've never drawn these before and in the ref I was using the features of his face weren't visible, it went quite downhill =P His face should be longer and less wide.. and don't look at his arm =P And it's messy...

...Striped Ground Squirrels. These guys rock because of their tails.

For those who may be unfamiliar with the habits of Ground Squirrels, when they're foraging for food, they hold their tails over them so they cast a shadow on their body to protect from the heat of the sun. They also hold their tails out along the side of their body to make themselves look larger when threatened by a snake.

Also reffed from photos, after all, it's impossible to learn how to draw something without a ref pic
