Sketched on the 10th, coloured today. It was really easy to do this one, it just worked. I have CS4 now too, and the brush settings are so much nicer than in CS2. It just felt a lot more natural.

Adolescent Nala participates in a hunt. Sarabi and Sarafina are in there as well. The other two are randoms. I spent so long on this, I'm glad it's finally done. It's the most animals I've ever done in the same picture!

Also, do you think the prey animals of the pridelands ever consider it a moral dilemma when the King or Queen of the pridelands is hunting them. They should do as the King or Queen says, but they would want to live =P

It gave her a chance to wander further away from Pride Rock and simply relax as she had not done for years. Scar's reign had impacted greatly on all of the pride and she especially, had been forced to grow up too soon in order to help meet the needs of her pride, and the hyenas. Now however, the Pridelands were brimming with renewed life and it gave her the chance to break free from her worries, and simply breathe."

A gift that I drew for Sharifu of herself and her boyfriend STM/Sadiki to thank her for letting me visit and stay with her for a few days. I had a great time visiting and I would love to visit again some time.

For the trading tree. 5 1/2 year old Greater Kudu named Ayson. A sensible and strong leader, he fears little, except packs of hunting dogs. His left (our right) horn is broken at the second twist. He has 6 white side stripes. His front leg markings are cream as is his eye marking. The other facial markings are white.

So... this is a trade with This Land, which is 3 years old =P I'm so bad at doing trades in a prompt manner, I have no idea why... it's just beyond me. Now that I've finished it, I don't like the shading method I used, and I'm perhaps wondering if I was meant to use colour pencils instead of digital... xD Oh well. Hope you still like it TL. Another Kovu, another pic done in sketcher. It's boring and blah... it's been so long since I've done any TLK style drawing... I'm really out of practice. I just don't have the time for finished art anymore.. all I do is quick sketches of things. I hope to be more active again in the future, I miss this place.

Also, news. I'm leaving to see Pat again on the 12th July, it will be after a 12 month separation, so I'm excited. I also get to meet up with the amazing Sharifu Sharifu so I'm really looking forward to my trip! =D

Commission for Simba 04! Thanks so much for this, I really appreciate it. It was fun to do... except for Jannali, but dark grey/black characters are always hard with colour pencil.

If I could change anything, I would swap Jannali and Razzle around, to balance out the light and dark in the pic. But oh well, live and learn they say.

Also, the plant in the lower right is Dianella revoluta, a native =D

A is for alligator... is close enough to crocodile right? =P I got sucked into the animal alphabet thing. It's fun drawing in a different style, and colouring without lines (I just add a few lines for details afterward), plus it gives me a chance to draw animals I wouldn't normally draw =)

Had a sketch just lion around (haha... I'm an idiot), that I felt like colouring. This is how it turned out. The 'L is for Lion' was somewhat of an afterthought. But I like it.

Canon, yay! I've been wanting to finish this for a while now, sketched it in November I think and coloured Nala and the foreground grass in december, and only just got a chance to finish it up today. Figured I'd take a break from commissions for the night and do some canon. I've been neglecting it lately. I'm quite pleased with how it came out actually =) Hope you guys like.

A lioness I drew at work yesterday while sitting on boom gate... writing down license plates of cars that drive in and checking their receipts and their cars when they drive out. Sometimes there's not much to do, so I was drawing. The head of this lovely lioness was reffed from a tiny picture on my mobile phone. =)

Stumbled across that song the other day, this image isn't a reflection of the subject of the song... but I fell in love with the lyrics quoted, which both made me hope so badly that he was missing me and reminded me of the poem 'Rainbow Bridge'. since then I haven't been able to stop listening to the song or sketching rabbits. Vitani is so much fun to draw, she has so much character and strength, not just physically but to me she is a very bold, smart, and headstrong character.

The image originally wasn't meant to take me so long. I was inspired by works by Weaver and a couple other artists who have heavy shadows in their art that brings strong dark moods to their images. It ended up taking me forever as I went about it the completely wrong way, but I'm still proud of the result. I had a lot of fun with this and really hope you guys like the result.

5-6 hours in photoshop, and I am finally happy with the result.

A lioness I did in sketcher, didn't take me too long, I tried a different way of colouring and I really like how it turned out. =)

The Scanner made it die... there is sky behind them, trust me ;) And I swear the colouring looks smoother in real life, but maybe I'm just outta practice.

Another sketcher pic =P At least there's shading this time, though it was rushed before reset.

Kovu and Vitani, I quite like how it turned out though it's not very well refined, my drawing hand is unsteady at the moment.
