UPDATE:April 5th, 2008 Wow... 2008, when did we get there... Yes, believe it or not, I'm still alive. I do miss this place. To be perfectly honest, I do upload more over at deviantart now (under the same name) though that's because I've had more time for photography than art and I tend to draw more than just lions these days.

Trouble is, since I've been back from Florida, I've just been overwhelmed with work and Uni that I hardly get time to myself. But nevermind that, I haven't forgotten about you guys here. I really do miss this place, I've been here for a long time...

Anyway, hope to get a bit more art up to you guys soon-ish. For now, just a single sketch, but it's better than nothing. Take care, and I look forward to catching up with you guys in the near future. Thanks for sticking by me through my absence.

Vitani is so much fun to draw, she has so much character and strength, not just physically but to me she is a very bold, smart, and headstrong character.

The image originally wasn't meant to take me so long. I was inspired by works by Weaver and a couple other artists who have heavy shadows in their art that brings strong dark moods to their images. It ended up taking me forever as I went about it the completely wrong way, but I'm still proud of the result. I had a lot of fun with this and really hope you guys like the result.

5-6 hours in photoshop, and I am finally happy with the result.

The Scanner made it die... there is sky behind them, trust me ;) And I swear the colouring looks smoother in real life, but maybe I'm just outta practice.

Another sketcher pic =P At least there's shading this time, though it was rushed before reset.

Kovu and Vitani, I quite like how it turned out though it's not very well refined, my drawing hand is unsteady at the moment.

Mufasa giving you the eye =P Forgot to upload this one from almost 2 weeks ago. On sketcher, Ase helped me fill in the colour as it was getting late and I needed to go to bed, so thanks for that! ^^

Here's Kopa!! Quite enjoyed drawing and colouring this. More Kopa fanart coming soon (hopefully)

Also, considering selling the original on ebay (also of some other art as well) though I'm not sure if I'd get any interest. Please comment to give opinions, suggestions, etc.

"Mufasa staggered back in shock, his right paw warm and damp with the blood that had been spilled when he struck his brother across the eye. Now as Taka recovered from the blow, he glared up at Mufasa with jealousy and hatred as the warmth of his own blood spread across his face.
'Mark my words, you may be my brother but you shall pay, King!' He spat out the last word with venom before turning his back on Mufasa and leaving the cave, echoing his final words.
'Oh yes, you shall pay.'"

Kovu is disgusted at what was going to be Zazu.. but I couldn't get him to look right. Oh well.

Came out a bit grainy after scanning and saving, but otherwise, I like it =)

I've had this one inked and Simba's fur coloured for a while, finally finished it tonight. =)

Just looking at this makes me realise that I need to be much more confident with my backgrounds, it took me forever to colour the sky so that the scanner would actually pick it up, and it's still too light. I just get scared of ruining the picture.

For the competition. I sketched this over a month ago now, and thought that colouring it for the competition was a good idea since it fits nicely =) I always thought that Nuka and Vitani would get along well when Kovu wasn't around. Like how you see them singing together in 'My Lullaby' I'm sure that as siblings they had some sweet moments as well.
