A thank-you picture of Scar for Takashari. She not only helped me procure some screenshots of the Simba's Pride Active Play game, but also scanned some pictures from the SP Mouseworks book (which can be viewed here). Drawing this was the least I could do to express my gratitude to her. :)

A scene inspired by Impressive Title: Nala_91 gets ready to fight a Monster Ray (my half of an art trade with her). The Monster Rays in IT actually don't have dorsal fins and glowing red eyes, but I just had to add them.

I'm sorry for using these descriptions as mini-forum posts, but I had a minor revelation recently. Judging by the different ways Ahadi is described and depicted in "A Tale of Two Brothers", it's obvious that the author and the illustrator didn't communicate very well, and most people tend to stick with his written description.

However, does it ever actually say in the text that Ahadi's fur was golden? Nearly everyone draws him with bright gold fur, but I don't recall the text saying anything about his appearance other than his having green eyes and a long black mane.

A request from Lil_Tiger: Ahadi, Mohatu and Mohatu's mate spending some time together. I did a little experimenting with Ahadi's cub design. I gave him a brown tail tuft that's going to turn black as he matures (like Simba, whose tail tuft went from brown to red) and a brown nose, and he still has some the spots he had as an infant.

A brief tangent: I recently went to a museum where I saw two Assyrian statues of lions that once stood before the entrance to a temple -- and both of them had five legs each. They were meant to be viewed from either from the front (making them appear to be standing) or the side (making them appear to be in mid-stride). Seeing them certainly made that five-legged sticker of Kiara seem a bit less crazy.
