Oh TLKFAA Sketcher, why hast thou forsaken me?

(An old Amita tries in vain to stop Sketcher from strangling my Internet connection every time I log onto it. Every time I see all these fun Sketcher pictures that people are uploading, I feel so sad and left out because my computer seems to have suddenly become Sketcher intolerant.)

On a more interesting note, I’ve just finished a game in Flash that I think some of the folks here might be interested in called Area 50.5.

A bit of pixel art inspired by <i>Discworld II: Missing Presumed…?!</i>. There’s a scene where Rincewind (the main character) talks to a camel salesman, and if you chose the “sarcasm” conversation option, the salesman suddenly freaks out and leaps into Rincewind’s arms (somehow, you’d expect the opposite to happen), and the two of them are momentarily in a position similar to the one anthro Yamin and Rinden are in in this picture.

Rinden's first encounter with tsama melons (wild ancestor of the watermelon and a vital food for many animals during the dry season.)

Yamin, Nimesha and Amita. I couldn’t decide what caption to use for this picture. It was a toss-up between “Hey Yammy, wanna play FETCH?” and “I just can’t take you anywhere, can I?”

I made two versions of this picture, the only difference being the eyes. They’re done in the TLK style here, but more like real cheetahs’ eyes at DeviantART.

Some little sketches of Yamin. I realized that in all the pictures I've drawn of him so far, he is acting a little too self-assured for a cheetah with four "bullseyes" on his body, so I thought I'd give him a slightly skittish edge.

I spent quite a while on this, yet I'm hesitant to upload it...ah well.

It's one of my favorite galactic gumshoes as a cheetah: Ruby (a creation of the ZBS Foundation, voiced by Laura Estermann). One of her more fascinating traits is that she can "slow time", which makes her very, VERY hard to shoot.

And the stories she appears in are downright amazing.

"...And what SMALL teeth YOU have, Rinden!" (I found out that cheetahs have very small teeth compared to most cats their size (the teeth take up less space to create a larger air intake), and Stuart has also just found this out.)

My cheetahs' family tree, complete with genders and family colors...notice the pattern? The 2nd generation is one of the primary colors that make up the secondary colors of the 1st one, and the 3rd one is the 2nd one's colors mixed together. Neat, eh?

I was afraid I'd be called a copycat if I u/l'ed this, despite its date...but Timali was kind enough to assure me that nothing was wrong with u/l'ing this MI crossover (thanks again!). I thought Guybrush would be better as a cheetah than as a lion.

I mentioned in Amita's profile that her spiky hair is based on a character from a computer game that I doubt many people here have heard of...so I've drawn 'Mita in the game's particular "style" and put the char in question in the BG. Mmm, indigo.

The design for Amita that I'm sticking with. What big ear tufts you have. Note: the cheetah's species name, jubatus, apparently means "possessing a crest or mane" (jub: crest, atus: having, owning). Neat.

Rinden, Sarala and Jack as members of the now extinct North American "cheetah" Miracinonyx, a species common during the ice age. Sure, I had to make some guesses on appearance, but it sure turned out pretty.

Guess what 80's movie (trilogy, actually) inspired this one? Much better than FastestOnFour (surprising, comsidering it's completely mouse-drawn). Not sure what statement I was trying to make with the words, but it seemed to fit. (this cheetah is Rinden.)

Jack and Xandra as adults...apparently Xandra doesn't quite grasp the meaning of the word. For some reason, Jack looks a little more feminine than I would have preferred...but one thing's for sure, he sure isn't as scruffy as he was as a cub!

Nimesha, Yamin's mate. She's a fairly normal female cheetah, except her tail, unlike almost all of my other cheetahs, has three black rings instead of two.

Nimesha and Yamin (Sarala's parents) as cubs. Yamin means "night" and Nimesha means "a split second". Both names are Hindi. Perhaps I'm honoring the cheetahs that used to inhabit India.

Going through a little cheetah phase here...I recently saw the movie "Footloose" and was amazed at how much Kevin Bacon resembled anthro Rinden. So I drew my character in a scene reminiscent of one of the scenes from the movie, complete with quote.

Rinden, my cheetah and his next of kin. To his left, his mother Surina, meaning "goddess," her nickname "Ina" meaning "mother." To his right, his mate, Sarala (I made up the name, but in actuality it means "straight" in Hindu), and his father Khan, named after the emperor Kublai Khan, the keeper over over 1,000 cheetahs, including a white-colored one, and below are Rinden and Sarala's cubs, Jacko (the pursued) and Xandra (the persuer).
