Not exactly fan art, but it is a TLK animal :) This is a picture that I'm working on of a meerkat I saw at the San Diego Zoo. It has the base colors first; will add fur (or try to) and other details soon.

Canon

Yep, an upload. In MS Paint which I'm trying out again. And believe it or not, I started drawing this before I realized TLK's anniversary was coming up! :)

Scar looked away from his former mate as the lioness held her stomach, as if the king wouldn't notice. Her son, Nuka, stared at the older lion, afraid of what he may do next.
"Please, Scar," Zira whispered. "I'll do anything! Just don't-"
"Hurt you or your cubs?" Scar growled, still not looking at her. "Wouldn't dream of it...but...you DID mate without my permission...and there must be payment..."
"Payment?" Zira asked, sounding nervous.
"When your son is born -yes, I believe you can produce another lion!- then you shall name the cub in my honor AND make him my heir."

The Comic

Yeah, not great after a 7-month hiatus, but I think the characters turned out pretty good.

And reason for Kovu slipping into darkness in panel 6? Haven't really thought that plan out, and you can think of it as him slipping away from Kiara and into his dark side. I'll try to develop that story further, I'm hoping to make a comic out of it (eventually).

I'd been wanting to make a gift art for Timitu for ages, so her birthday today must have inspired me :) It's not much (I didn't even know it was her birthday until I read her deviantART journal a few hours ago) but hopefully just enough to tell her how awesome I think her art -and her new job- art :D

Aroca

ow, I haven't uploaded in forever...you can thank my PhotoShop not cooperating with my MacBook for that. :{ College too...

Anyway, I know it's not a holiday pic, but I've been tweaking Aroca's design a bit to fit her in better with the TLK universe. She's probably a teenager (in lion years) in this picture

Unfaithful

"It took a while for Nala to approach Simba after he learned the truth. Now cubless, and with no heir, it appeared that there was almost no love between the couple. Nala was just about to leave the Pride Lands and try to start a new life, until something happened that rekindled their love..."

Set after Kopa's disappearance. In my story, there's a bit more to this event than you may think ;)

Art trade with Lucky...wow, I see my attempt to "lionize" her off-topic fursona was a bit harder than I thought it would be. Now it's some sort of weird wolf/lion hybrid :O

Amazing how I managed to draw a completely-canon page (with the exception of one panel) in an original character-based comic XD
